THESE ARE VIVID BEAUTIFUL COLORS , ESPECIALLY THE LAVANDERS AND GREENS. THE BIRDS ARE OUTSTANDING. I GOT THEM FOR EVERYDAY TO HAVE A CHANGE OF DISHES. THEY ARE LIGHT WEIGHT AND FEEL LIKE CHINA. I HAD HEAVY DISHES AND THEY CHIPPED EASILY. THESE ARE HAND WASH. I DID USE THE DISHWASHER AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF DETERGENT AND THEY ARE FINE. MAYBE AFTER A LOT OF WASHING THE GOLD WILL WEAR OFFBUT THE COLOR WILL ALWAYS BE THERE . FOR THE PRICE IF I GET 3 OR 4 YEARS THAT WILL BE GREAT. LUCKY ME I ALSO GOT THE CAKE PLATE, THE SMALLER OPEN COOKIE PLATE AND THE WATER PITCHER. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GREAT REPLACING A BROKEN DISH.

These dishes are so gorgeous I leave them on my table as if set for company. It's part of my decor. At first I was a little taken aback that they are not eggshell thin, but now I love it b/c I don't worry so much about using them. The green is so lovely and rare -- it is hard to find a good green in dishes nowadays. It is perfect for me as I have various shades of emerald, sea foam green, a little bit of sage. Greens are far easier to mix than blues in my experience, and I would recommend this pattern if you want something so beautiful you just want to stare at it. The accent colors are striking. I have even thought of getting a hanging shelf for the dining room and displaying them as wall art in between uses. I can't say enough how beautiful they are. I wish I had two more sets.

I was tired of years of white, white, white. These dishes look as if one found them at an estate auction. The workmanship is excellent. I was worried that the gold painting would be thick or sloppy, it is beautiful. The bird images are graceful. They are not micro or dishwasher safe, but as I use them for Thanksgiving and Easter, who cares. Note that the porcelain is hefty. I have fine porcelain that is whisper thin, but I think this ones thickness is part of the vintage charm. The cups are a good size, not espresso sized. The green is probably best described as deep jade. Not a color one often sees, which is why it looks so authentic. My eye sees magenta and purple also. Stunning with rich solid colored and crystal serving pieces to keep it from getting too busy. Think an Asian color palette.
