I ordered due to moving into new house, I wanted a neutral color but something that also had character. I had seen similar dinnerware at *****, and ***** , but it seemed heavy. This set is lighter but still has beautiful lines. Also seems it would not chip as easily as the other clay version. I ordered addtional serving pieces from Replacements.com.

All I can say is that I had been ogling these dishes at Neiman Marcus and Horchow.com, and I was overjoyed when I found them on Overstock.com for cheaper. The dishes are beautiful, love the ornate baroque detail and the antique, weathered finish. However, they are a little lighter than I expected. But my greatest complaint is that these dishes chip SOOOO easily. I've only had them for less than two weeks, and there are already several chips through out. Hugely disappointed. So now I'm torn, because although I am reluctant to return them because they are so gorgeous, I don't want to waste my money on something that is so cheap and does not seem like it's going to hold up very well over time. I have dish sets that I've purchased from Marshall's for less that I've had for years that don't have a single nick yet. I'm very sad.

I love the old world baroque look and these give that look. When I received the dishes the dinner plate is the squared plate stacked in the middle. Loved it being squared! The bowls are nice and deep. The coffee cups will hold a small Keurig coffee and sometimes that is plenty before it gets cold. I can overlook a couple missed glazing spots for the look and quality of the dishes. I'm just anxious to see how they hold up to my husbands' use. He tends to be hard on them when unloading the dishwasher.

We loved the dishes, but the glazing was defective. The dishes were not properly sealed. We sent therm all back for a refund.

Love the dish set. I was expecting a bit more glaze on them but they are really nice and just what I wanted.

I like the look of the dishware and do use it daily, but since it gets so hot in the micro, I would not recommend it for everyone. I use a hot pad to remove the dishes from my microwave and wait a while before placing the dish on the table.

Saw this set in an upper end store, I ordered 1 set and when they arrive I sent for another, being it was the same as the upper end store, very pricie I returned those and am very happy with the same set from overstock !

These are beautiful white pottery looking dishes and I am very happy with them!

The color of the plates is a little more creamish tan than i thought they were going to be. But all in all I am happy with them

These are lovely dishes. Did not know what to expect based on the prior reviews. We are enjoying these. I have already chipped a dish though. The glaze seems a little fragile. but the look is elegant. The price point is better than the other stores I could find who carry this product. The packaging was not what I expected.

This is the most horrible set of dishes I have ever purchased. They get blazing hot in the microwave and the finish has started coming off. They also chip very easily. They were a complete waste of money.

Beautiful set of dishes. Reading previous reviews helped me to make my decision and so much so that I purchased two sets. Was not dissapointed at all. Thanks to reviewers and Overstock.com.

This set is lovely......the only thing is I would like to purchase some serving pieces and don't know how to go about doing that........I just love the dinnerware and while it is a new purchase, I feel it will suit my needs for quite some time to come........it will be used for "every day" ware and I purchased 3 sets as I wanted enough place settings to be used for special occasions as well....even though I have a lovely bone china set that was quite costly........I prefer this set ....very happy with the purchase thus far..........I will re-post should that change.......

I had previously purchased two 4 piece place settings from Horchow's along with the completer set. Overstock was almost 20% cheaper so I ordered another 4 piece place setting. The color matches but, the design is more pronounced and slightly different than what I previously purchased. I was disappointed but, think that I will be the only one to notice. After 6 years, many of the original dishes and bowls have developed slight chips at the edges. And after microwaving bacon, one plate has developed a long dark line through it. So, not as resilient as they appear to be but, a very pretty set that I receive numerous compliments on.

So here is the thing. I really wanted this set of dishware and I almost didn't go for it because I have never ordered online before and some reviews are less that great. But I went for it, committed despite never actually seeing the stuff. And it turns out, I LOVE IT. Literally, love it. The plates of varying sizes are great and the bowls are so handy and unique. Who are these hateful reviewers?! I will say that the picture shows the plates as an off white, they are noticably darker, a tan cream. But really, they are beautiful. And its only three weeks in for me but they still have zero knife marks which I really appreciate. So go for it. Enjoy your set!

I think some people must have their noses in the air when reviewing these dishes. I purchased these for my lakehouse about 4 years ago. To date, I do not have one chip. The bowls are great due to the handles on the side. They have a quiet elegance about them. While they may not be as "crisp" as the picture, people have to understand that these dishes did not cost $600+. They are a great value for the money and I always get compliments on my everyday dishes. I have a full set of those "W" dishes that cost well over $1k, which are beaded, crisp and white but not once has anyone ooolalala'd them. The color is not a true white, but more of a very light cream. The antiquing has a slight gray/blue tint. I'm very happy after 4 years of every day use and they did not cost that much money. Love em for the look as well as the price.

These dishes match with the shabby look that I have been wanting. Elegant and versitle....they are not a clean white if that is what you wish but more creamy distressed.....such a great shabby effect. Many have mentioned that the pattern isn't as lifted as in the photo. Maybe not, but it is still very discernable and gorgeous.

For the first time in a long time I have been disappointed with my purchase from OS.com. The dishes look really good in the photograph; like a Horchow ad. When I got the dishes, the pattern was barely visible on some of the dishes, it's a lot flatter than shown in the picture and the color and quality of the dishes were disappointing to me. I sent them back, and will continue to look for the right set of dishes.

I'm not convinced the dishes sent to me are the dishes in the picture. The pattern is not as raised and crisp like in the pic. They are not white but off white and they have a glaze finish that makes them look dirty. I think they were going for an antique finish but it is just unattractive. Just can't believe they are the same dishes in the picture.
