The Parsons Desk is a great work space for a small area. The desk looks great in my guest bedroom, it makes for an excellent writing area. It combines medium tone wood (stain) & black metal touches to give it a neo-classic look and will go well with most furniture. It is very easy to assemble, sturdy, comes with a middle drawer and is the perfect size for my small space. I would definitely recommend.
This is actually a very nice desk for the price - HOWEVER - the desk and drawer top piece is VERY HEAVY and apparently well made but the wooden legs are NOT very sturdy to support such a weighty top. I expect this will break when I move. Otherwise, I love the color, the metal and wood combo, it's very stylish. I just don't expect it to last.
We have a very small office and so this desk is perfect. It's simple, small, and easy to see through and around, so that it's ok floating the middle of the room. There's not much to it, but it is a great value for the price. Assembly was less than 30 minutes.
this is the cheapest particleboard; mine arrived with the 'veneer' already peeling off, and the particleboard in a couple spots had gotten wet and was puffy. I noticed all that, but decided I could glue down the veneer and hide the defects; I liked the style of the desk that much. Well, after an hour of putting it together (which involved gluing dowels, never had to do that before with cheap furniture assembly), I was almost done and one of the threads inside the metal part was not drilled out all the way, and the screw would not go in. WIthout that, the integrity of the piece was shot. By then I was so annoyed at how offensively cheap (and I'm no snob--all my furniture is from places like **** and ****) it was, that I took the entire thing down to the dumpster. I should have boxed it all up and sent it back, but I just couldn't. I'm disappointed in Overstock for carrying something so lame.
