While this Storage unit and it's counterparts are attractive, the materials and construction of the parts is less than desirable and like other reviews have said, dealing with assembly and the poor directions is a struggle. One of the boards was misdrilled in my original shipment and I am now on my second attempt to get the board replaced with correct hole locations; if this third one is still incorrect then I'm considering maybe another piece has been misdrilled and I'm planning to contact the company for a whole new unit altogether.
This was actually bought for my sister, who is very pleased with it as a kitchen storage unit. She particularly liked the contrasting top, which adds a touch of class. It was not a cinch to put together, but my sister inherited the practical problem-solving gene in the family and her husband provided the strength to complete the job. We're all happy.
We really like(d) the style of this product but it was completely time consuming to build and after spending about a week putting this together, we thought it was finally done -- but one of the pieces was off center (the directions don't give specific measurements for one part) so now we are debating whether to take the whole thing apart so it can function or to return it. Most likely will return it because for the price it's not worth all of the effort. However it is a very nice looking console table. We really like the style so it is unfortunate how much trouble it has been -- not worth it. Would have rather spent double the price to have something arrive in one piece (or in far less pieces)!
The Entry Hall Storage Console was exactly what I expected. I am using it in my kitchen and it fits perfect and gives me plenty of storage space. I was able to de-clutter an area of my kitchen that was driving me crazy. It was very easy to put together and directions were easy to follow. I did it all myself.
Although this console looks pretty nice once it's all put together, it took FOREVER to put together! I'm usually pretty crafty with these pre-drilled sort of things, but it felt like there were a million little pieces involved in this "project." Unless you just have tons of time to dedicate to this, you would probably be better off finding a cheap console at a discount store. Also, the drawers are not very sturdy (I wouldn't trust them to hold anything even remotely heavy) and the back of this console is just cheap, laminated cardboard. I honestly don't expect this piece to last very long.
