I wanted a small desk that would fit in the hallway. The size was perfect for that. My daughter can easily do her homework and crafts on it. The only hitch to this design is that if the desk is standing on a rug + padding and you step on the bottom metal bar that the legs are welded to, the entire thing starts to tip. She's spilled beads/glitter all over because of that. But on a hardwood floor, it should be stable. It took about ten minutes to assemble. She decorated the area between the color boards and the glass so you can personalized it.
Desk has clean lines, was easy to assemble, and is small enough to sit in a tween bedroom. It is sturdy enough. It is thin though, check the measurement. It will hold a laptop with not much room to spare, but has plenty of room for a middle-school child to do homework. I like the flexibility to change the color top. We are using hot pink and though it's a little red, it works.
This desk is very heavy and if I had younger children around I would be very concerned about them climbing on it and breaking it or having it fall over. However, for a teenager who won't try to sit on it and doesn't stack a ton of junk on it, this should work out very nicely. Cons: the box arrived with a 12 inch gaping hole and one of the metal legs was bent, but not enough to not be usable. Pros: even after all that, the glass top was in good condition. Con: 2 of the colored boards were so badly scratched they were unusable. Pro: the 2 colors we like best (black and gray) were not scratched up. Overall....I'm happy with the purchase and it's great for a laptop in a tight space.
