Great Value! Great Product!
from Riverside, CA,  Aug 27, 2008

I have had this item for about 5 mos now. I purchased it for my 65" DLP The TV fits perfectly on it. The product workmanship is great as well. The item is a bit heavy but no complaints here. I spent weeks on end trying to find the best deal on a TV stand and this was by far the best deal out there. The product actually comes with 3 different colored leg attachments, black, silver and wood grain. The picture shown only shows the black. In my opinion the different color leg attachments adds even more value. You can change that appearance of the stand if you change your funiture!

a perfect 10
from Western Illinois,  Aug 21, 2008

I can't imagine it is possible to get a better value on a TV stand. This thing looks great, it is very well construsted, and (with the replaceable legs) can match almost any decor. It fits in the corner of my living room perfectly, and easily accomidates my 56" DLP widescreen TV. Style = 10 Function = 10 Value = 10

Smart choice
 from MA,  Aug 19, 2008

The Altra Tv Stand was well worth the time and money spent. The assembly took about two hours and was awkward to put together due to the size. The directions could have been a little clearer. Everything needed was included and the stand looked great when finished. I would definitely recommend this item.

The Best Entertainment Unit Ever
 from NY,  Oct 14, 2008

When i purchased this item, there were no reviews, so i took a chance but God was i surprised when it arrived and my young brother assembled it (it took 2hrs). This piece is beautiful and stanning, it makes my living room look very lovely and elegant. It has three different shades that you can interchange (Black, Silver and Brown wood). It definately is a bargain, its worth 5 times what i paid for. I would definately recommend this to anyone whose looking to transform there living room. This was the first time i ever bought furniture online. I just love it i feel like going on and on.

Awesome!
 from Idaho,  Oct 8, 2008

Despite earlier reviews (which made me a little nervous), this TV stand took only 30 minutes to put together by myself. It is very well designed and feels extremely sturdy. With my 56" DLP, Playstation3, Wii, DVR and 5 disk DVD player all fitting comfortably, I know this is one of the best purchases I've made through Overstock!

Stand arrived in good condition, required helping UPS fella to carry it up to my apartment as it was heavy. Good quality for the money.

It's a bit of Elegance
 from Syracuse, N.Y.,  Sep 10, 2008

The stand was not particle board which I hate, so it was a nice surprise. It is a bit of elegance in my livingroom and the 60 inch dlp sits on it no problem. The shape is great because even though it is large the width length across the back is shoter, and since it has diagonal sides it makes it easy to get behind the tv to hook things up. It does a good job of hiding the wires from all my coponents and there's plenty of room on the lower two shelves for equipment. The only worry I would have would be stacking to heavy coponents on top of each other, because of the glass, but I haven't tried it and the glass is strong. With 2.95 cent shipping it is a steal. Putiing this puppy together is a bit like a puzzle, which is usually not an issue for me, but the odd shapes gave me some trouble. There are three sets of front legs: black, silver and, wood grain. The whole woodpart is painted, except I think the woodgrain was a different process, because it is not plastic wrapped around wood. You will definately need a freind to help you put this bad boy together. It shouldn't take long to do it, but you want some one to hold things while you use the allen wrench to put it together, so you don't crack the wood where the screws go into the metal inserts that are in the sides and edges of the shelves while you are getting the first couple screws in to each piece. Then you will need another set of hands to put the glass in, which slides in like butter. You will need a scredriver to put the supports in the back of it for the glass and to tighten the clamps down a bit. The clamps have a soft tip on the end of the screws that tighten the glass down to keep it from sliding, but don't go amd tightening it down, just tighten it until it's firmly held no more. This bad boy is heavy for it's design, so you'll need a bit of help getting it into it's place. The glass is thicker on the top where the tv sits and a bit thinner on the shelves, still it's sturdies than a hutch or a display case. Finally a warning. I had to help the UPS guy get this baby up to my second floor aapartment. The box it comes in will flex in the middle a bit if it's lifted horizontally, because of the weight and flexibiliy of the glass, so it is best to keep it vertical on end when moving it. I got it laying down flat when I started to put it together and didn't try to lift it again once all the cardboard box was open. In the box it weighs more because of the extra legs. All in all I am quite happy with it now that it's in it's place, I chose the black legs, but that's just my taste. The frame is steel that all the parts attach to , so this bad boy is not wobbly at all. I alwost put the silver legs on for that contemporary high tech look, but my living room is kinda eclectic, so black is my choice. It's a great stand, but I didn't have the other set of hands to start, so make sure you get a freind to give you a hand. I think Overstock rocks Quality stuff at a good price/ with 2.95 shipping what a deal. It does take a bit of time to get to NY from CA, but who cares, just make an allowance for it. This took about 8 days to get here.

Atrractive and good value
from Elk Grove, Ca,  Sep 4, 2008

The stand worked out as advertised. It looks good and is sturdy. The 3 choices of end colors makes it fit your room decor. A bit difficult on assembly but it turned out nice.

This stand is a thing of beauty,i had planned on using the silver legs to match my flat screen ,but the wood tone looked so good i went with them you can not beat the price ,the shipping alone if i brought some where else would have been close to the price.i get complements whenever someone sees it.

good product
from tucson, az,  Aug 11, 2008

I have been looking around for a while for a tv stand for my flat screen.. Then I saw this on overstock.. I'm glad I purchased. It looks great with my tv on it. The assembly was done by my 10 year old daughter. She finished it in about an hour and 1/2. Nice and heavy. Doesn't look cheap looking at all.

Great piece of furniture
from Gambier, OH,  Aug 7, 2008

This TV stand looks great! It was a heavy box, but heavy can be a good thing. The assembly was staight forward, but did take a few hours. There was a small chip out of the back piece and a scratch in one of the glass shelves, but when it went together none of those defects were visible. All in all an excellent product for the price.

Nice addition to Living/Family room.
from San Carlos, CA,  Aug 6, 2008

Wonderful materials utilized to make a modular TV stand. The TV stand was excellently packaged and delivered without any incident. The instructions for putting this together is a bit misleading. The diagrams are a bit confusing and sometimes not very helpful. Some of the angles used to put screws together are often awkward. Be sure to set aside 2-3 hours in attempting to understand the instructions as well as making sure there are adequate washers for each screw. I have to admit...after you are said and done and the TV stand is somehow miraculously put together...it is definitely a beautiful sight. When put together, it is very solid and sturdy.

Harder than you might think
 from Oregon,  Aug 5, 2008

The stand is beautiful.....however.... First, when I saw the shipping weight I said "OMG". It is 113 lbs. Now as to the assembly. Here are a couple tips. First, make sure that on the front endcaps you choose (you get three, silver, wood and black) that the threads don't have gunk inside them. Second, make really sure which length screws go where. Third, do not tighten the screws until after you put the glass in. You will need one person to wiggle the assembly while the other person wiggles the glass in. The instruction booklet is kinda funky, they show the assemby on page one from one angle, then they flip it (somehow) so D doesn't REALLY go on the left hand side, it's E on the left. Work through those issues and you'll end up with a pretty, sturdy stand.

Great Stand for the Price
 from NY,  Jul 21, 2008

This stand is exactly what I was looking for, although my wife wanted a stand with doors to store our DVD's and Movies. The best feature about this stand is the three choices of colors on the front panels (Silver, Black,& Wood finish). We were able to match the wood finish and Black frame with the rest of our Livingroom furniture. In addition, when we get tired of this look we can easily switch to one of the others. Very Classy!

Almost 5 stars
from South Florida,  Jul 11, 2008

I received this item without any problems from UPS. I was able to assemble it by myself. Instructions could be a little more detailed, but take your time and you'll figure it out. All you need is some muscle, the supplied Allen key wrench and a Phillips. The interchangeable front legs are a great benefit/option. I choose to go with the silver legs. Unfortunately one is bruised with a minor hairline crack on it. Easy fix is to use one of the two other color options. But its not terribly noticeable, just a little disappointing. But over all, for the value, I'm not complaining.

Great Product
 from Colorado,  Jun 2, 2008

This is a great stand. I was worried it would be plastic of something cheap, but the shelves are glass and the sides are very sturdy. I have a 56" LCD TV and it fits well and we have a lot of storage room below it. We have stored the Wii, stereo system, VCR, cable, DVD, CD player, modem and still have room. The assembly is a little tricky, but it's not bad. Just remember all the screws fit. Good buy
