Great Buy

Better than average dresser!
This is the third piece I purchased from this set. I have the nightstand, bed, and now dresser. All were of good quality and I have no real complains. Some little issues I could draw attention to would be that the drawer sliders make a little noise, nothing loud. And one of the holes for the pins was too tight and I almost stripped the head on it. You will need a descent screw driver and maybe a pair of pliers to put it all together. Overall the value is there, you defiantly get your money's worth. If your interested in a bed as well, I would check out the one in this set. Very solid.

Sturdy and Heavy
Good Product, looks much better than the picture, very sturdy, i bought the whole bedroom set and was able to put the entire thing together in about 4 hrs and i am not a handyman :)

So close to perfect!
I did my research before buying this dresser, and am usually not one to buy furniture before I see it in-person. However, there isn't much to compete with this item out there. Between the solid wood and handle-less drawer faces, my options were very little and this item fit the bill to a T. Unlike the Alsa nightstands, however, the Alsa dresser was packaged with overly sparse protective material and was consequently received with some damage. The damage, to the delicate drawer front panel bottom lip on two of the three drawers, consisted of a moderate crack through the rubberwood but not complete breakage. Rather than contacting customer service, I decided to try repairing the cracks myself. On the careful application of glue to the cracks, I found that the finish on the rubberwood was surprisingly delicate and the stain came up very quickly with minor contact with the adhesive. After curing the repairs, I set about camouflaging the damage to the stain and gloss. I was able to get it close enough that even my sharp-eyed husband has no idea I've made these repairs. In the end, good purchase, easy build and repair, no regrets and I'll hopefully have this beauty in my home for a long time!

Good-by night stand
I previewed the reviews before purchasing -- they were good and helped me. These night tables are nice in apparence, nice size drawers and ample space. The person who said it took them just 45 minutes to put them together was nuts. It does take some time, but time well spent. It was the perfect addition to my bedroom. These are nice size bed dressers - you need the room to put one on each side of the bed -- it worked for me. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Looks nice, but takes too long to assemble and is
I ordered this great-looking dresser to match the Alsa Queen size bed which I have and love. Overall, the dresser looks nice, but what people wrote concerning assembly is all-too true: don't try to put this thing together by yourself, it definitely is a job for two since you need to be able to hold up some pieces in order to attach the next one. The lack of pre-drilled holes for the screws is a BIG disadvantage, and when I tried to drill some, I ended up drilling through the whole wall and now have two little holes visible on the outside of the dresser. It's cosmetic but still annoying! The materials are okay, not as sturdy as I thought, and the instructions are so brief that it is hard to make sense of them. Finally, the construction--with bolts that are held in place by so-called "Cam Locks" is not very good.These locks tend to get loose again, causing the whole frame to lose stability. When I tried to put the drawers in place, the front of the drawer came apart, the whole frame gets out of whack easily and makes it hard to line up the drawers with the runners. In fact, my dresser has come apart overnight (I assembled everything last night, what I had hoped to be a 2-hour job ended up being 4.5, admittedly for one person) so much that the drawers don't sit on the runner on one side. I guess I have to "unassemble" and reassemble???

not what i expected
i still have not put this dresser together as having put the night stand together i was not at all satisfied with the type of assembly which is just like cheap particle board units and it contains parts that are particle board. I'm not excited about all the work to put it all together. i assumed it would be more like the furniture my sister ordered that only need the legs attached. cannot in anyway recommend ALSA products and feel they are overpriced for what you get. the bed frame was ok but came short to center supports. the mattress i ordered was fine. very dissatisfied with the dressers and wish i had paid more attention to construction and assembly descriptions. beware of what you buy.

Don't buy
The good thing about this dresser is its looks. The bad thing about it is that it's a pain in the butt to put together, and the hardware is very cheap. We had to reinforce it in several places. We are not novice furniture assemblers. So beware! You might be better off at ***.

disaster
This is a very low quality piece of furniture. The bed from the same line is good quality for the price and fairly easy to assemble. Two of the wood panels for the dresser were split when they arrived. A third arrived but fell off after construction. I've never had a piece of furniture that was such a mess, and that includes many other purchases of inexpensive furniture over the years.
