Excellent
I received the two night stands yesterday and started assembly. They arrived in excellent shape and the assembly went really easy. I would highly recommend these night stands to anyone looking for a quality piece to add to their bedroom. By the way a power drill will really speed up the assembly. Instructions were pretty clear, however, assembly is a no brainer. I intend to purchase both the chest and dresser. Hope this helps you make a decision, you can't go wrong with this piece !!!!!

Decent Nightstand
I think the assembly instructions are pretty sufficient. The only problem that I had was that I put the slider things on the drawers backwards, but I attribute that to user error rather than a design flaw. All said and done, it is a very nice height to go along with the bed, I highly recommend just parting with the extra cash to have a matching set than to just get the bed and "figure out the nightstand issue later". The drawer is not as fluid as I would like, but it works.

Great quality, easily assembled
Hubby and I assembled this in about 20 minutes with no problems or having to re-do steps the way most self-assembled furniture causes. Instructions were clear and well written, parts list was complete and detailed. They included a spare for each group of small parts, a nice detail. The holes are accurately drilled, and there were even tiny screws instead of the finishing nails that other furniture includes to hold on backing panels. The finished product is fairly heavy, sturdy, and looks more like "furniture store" product than mail order. This low table is perfect to match my platform bed. I don't understand the critical reviews I've seen here. I'm happy with it,and will be ordering a second one for another room.

Beautiful nightstand
I really like this piece, it has a rich dark finish (espresso I think). It could easily hold two men standing on top. Be careful when putting the drawer together, i snapped a wooden dowl and had to drill it out. Assembly was otherwise easy and straight forward.

Good solid no non-sense product
Need to be very careful with assembly. One of the screws split the back panel when we drove it too tight. Furniture is hard to return and exchange once it is fully assembled. This night stand goes well with the platform bed we bought. It sits quite low on the floor.

reasonable, too puch Styrofoam
Hard to assemble since the pegs are hard wood and do not fit well, too much Styrofoam padding to get rid off, should learn from IKEA to reduce packaging material .

Unique but on the stout side
I looked around for quite a while to see if I could find a nightstand in this price range built with solid wood. Not only does this one fit the bill, it has an attractive shade of stain and is surprisingly sturdy. Given the scarcity of solid wood nightstands at this price, I had to order this one online. That made me nervous, as I couldn't see it in-person before purchase. On receipt, I found that not only had the nightstand's parts been securely packaged, but the nightstand itself was even more attractive than I thought it would be. I do have one gripe, though- this nightstand is so petite that your bed must be pretty low to the floor to accommodate it. I just lucked out that I can!

The unit was difficult to put together the directions Were unclear at best there should a furniture center Set up n each city to assemble furniture for a fee because it Really deters me from getting the 4 drawer chest that i want Because of the directions and hardware issues of Peices not working properly together I don't think I'm going to buy The chest. Small, cheaply made, difficult to assemble
I would only recommend this product for someone who has an advanced skill for assembling furniture, and has the time to devote to complex assembly. I expected the unit to be somewhat pre-assembled, and based on the reviews and my comfort level with assembly (very comfortable), I did not expect the assembly to be a burden. I spent nearly 3 hours putting the first night stand together and cracked the wood in several places. I don't feel like I was being too rough, it is just very cheaply made. The end result was much, much smaller than I expected (this is my fault for not reading the description well enough) and the drawer is not functional due to the poor fit of all of the pieces together. I was trying to save a little bit of money, but next time, I will spend twice as much to get something of decent quality pre-assembled. I will eat the cost on the night stand I assembled, but am returning the second one. Very disappointed, and very frustrated by this purchase.

Easy to assemble, looks great
Love this nightstand - bought it to go with the matching bed and it looks great. Assembled by myself in about 45 minutes with a manual screwdriver. Instructions were generally easy to understand. The quality is good, construction is sturdy. Be aware of the height - it is very low, but matches the bed height perfectly. Very pleased with the Alsa!
