Beautiful flocati area rug
I purchased this area rug for my family room. The color really lit up my room and it looks great on my hardwood floor. But it really, really sheds. Unless you like using your "Swiffter" duster and/or vacuuming your hardwood floors daily, don't purchase it. I ended up moving it to a bedroom and placed it over wall to wall carpeting and it's lovely. The color is true to the online description and it is very thick. I wouldn't buy another for hardwood floors.

Looks nice, definitely adds warmth to the room. It does shed quite a bit, even after taking it outside and shaking the bejesus out of it. I recently bought a brush so i'll see if brushing it regularly helps.

Sheds worse than our dog!
This rug has continually shed since the day it was laid down. We thought after the first couple of weeks it would stop, but it has been months now and this rug sheds worse than our dog. We have balls of flokati everywhere and its pointless to vacuum them up since they are vacuum bag hogs! Its a great looking rug, but unless you are going to use it in a space that it will NEVER get walked on, be prepared for daily collection of flokati balls! We have given up and along with the other rug we purchased have given it to a local charity...and YES, we did tell them how much of a pain it is to keep up with.

Very nice looking
I got this for my 2 daughters' (12 and 15 y/o) room which has dark wood floor and an apricot color on the walls. They love it, it is very mod and provides a nice place to sit on the floor and play or read. I got the premium rug pad and glad I did, it keeps the rug in place and makes it much softer to walk on. The rug is fluffy, but it's not "soft" like a shearling coat, say, but it's still nice.

Not what I expected
This flokati rug was not quite what I expected. It was thinner and not as fluffy as pictured. I combed it out as instructed and it still was not as fluffy. It does leave dust balls but not more than any average new rug. The color was creamier than expected but it still worked with my wood floor and black leather furniture. It is soft to walk on and looks very nice similar to what you see in home decor magazines but the quality just isn't there. Did I keep it? yes...only because I didn't want to be bothered shipping large package back. Sorry Overstock...this purchase was not up to the standard I have come to expect from you.

Not what I expected
Perhaps it was my expectation that was incorrect, but I expected a much thicker and substantial rug. While the shag was long and soft in itself, the rug itself was on the thin side and not plush at all.

Beautiful, soft rug
We have had this rug for about 3 weeks now. It is holding up nicely. My only complaint is the shedding... we have little fuzz/dust bunnies around. I hope this gets better with time. We have been using the handheld attachment of our vacuum to clean it. You definitely need a non slip pad. I also got some double stick non skid tape for the corners.

What is Flokati...I'm glad I found out!
I needed something to make my living room pop! I have medium dark teak floors and greens, browns, and blue palette. The rug anchored the room, making it look dreamy. The fact that it is washable, made this a real winner. We do find little "hair balls" here and there, but it's not a problem.

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. I'm not familiar with Flokati, but my Thomasville decorator recommended I purchase it.

I've been trying to decide between a Flokati rug vs. a shag rug and decided to order this one. I'm thrilled with my purchase. It arrived very quickly and is a beautiful, thick rug that looks just like the photos. I just placed it in my living room and it looks just wonderful. I think this is a great quality and a great value for the money. I love it!!
