Alexa Chevron Vibe Zebra Rug (8' x 10')

I love this rug. I bought it for my dining room and it is perfect. Great size. When I first laid it down, it made me very dizzy, but once the table and chairs were on it, it was fine. Great rug for the price.

I was looking for a chevron rug for my daughter's room and this one is the right size and the right price. I knew it would not be a high quality rug. And it isn't. It weighs almost nothing. I was able to carry it up the stairs by myself with one arm. It rolled out flat, except the end that was curled very tightly, but it has flattened out. It looks great from afar. Up close you can just about see right through it. It is not very tightly knit, and more the fibers are very thin. The real problem with the rug is the awful toxic smell. I should have rolled the rug out on the porch in the sun for a few days, but it is winter here and I didn't think about it. It has been on the floor in my daughter's room for a month and still hasn't off-gased. The smell is so strong it gives me a headache in about 3 minutes. After all the effort and expense of low-VOC paint and an organic mattress, this rug was a bad choice. Only a real wool or cotton rug, one with natural fibers, is going to be safe, but then there is the expense. You get what you pay for with this rug, pretty but toxic..

Good style for a low price. Hopefully the rug will wear out about when the trend does! Reading all the reviews gave me a pretty accurate understanding of what I'd get. For reference, the stripes are about 1.5 inches thick so if you measure from point to point, it's about 2 inches. It took me a few days to get over how busy it looked, even though I'd read that the chevron pattern was smaller than expected for a lot of people.

We purchased the brown and cream chevron rug in 8'x10' to fill our living room. I wanted a large rug that didn't cost hundreds of dollars since we have a two-year-old, and I didn't want to be heartbroken over an expensive rug stained with juice or ketchup! The colours are true to the online representation- a warm chestnut brown and pale tan/cream, which goes really well with our walnut wood furniture. While it's very contemporary it still fits in nicely with our vintage and art deco-styled furniture and adds a lot to the room. The rug is actually very soft- softer than I had anticipated given the low cost- we placed a cushy rug pad underneath, and it's totally comfortable to sit on the floor on. It's not itchy and doesn't necessarily feel 'synthetic' like other cheaper rugs I've encountered. My daughter plays happily sitting on it. I do think it will last us a few years- at least long enough until our daughter outgrows her 'spilling' stage. I feel really happy with my purchase, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rug to a friend!
