Thank you for your interest. The general consensus is that today, for a regular bed, if the mattress is decent, it will provide sufficient support. The width is listed as 80 inches but it looks like the headboard is curved. Do you have the exact dimension of this bed as I have a very small bedroom. Thanks. hmelee on Jan 5, 2013
