I would only recommend this product if it is put together properly! My husband is the handy man of the house, and usually has no problems following instructions to put anything together. My husband had MANY MANY problems putting this bar together. It was the pictures that messed him up every time. It was this mistake that really put a damper on the bar. He screwed the back board in the front of the bar, and when he finally realized it was the wrong side, it was too late. Now our beautiful bar has hole screws all along the edge of the door. Nothing can hide that. Besides the holes that surround the face of the bar, the bar looks great. It works great as well. It is a little higher then what I expected, but I'm the one that didn't bother looking at the measurements. I love it, and we have gotten a lot of compliments on it.

We have purchased this bar to use for our flat panel TV in our Master Bedroom. With a height of 50" it holds our flat panel at the perfect height for viewing from bed, while also serving as a media desk cabinet. The remotes, and DVD's fit great inside. The DVD player and cable box fit nicely on the lower shelf.I was pleased with the look and craftmanship for the price. The hardware could be better, but for the use we have intended it will be just fine. The wood is solid/sturdy wood. The piece is heavy when assembled. I was able to assemble by myself up to the point of adding on the drop leaf door. Takes two to balance it. If you've put furniture together before, it is simple to follow.Pay attention to measurements noted as the piece is large, as I expected. Make sure your space will hold it. The UPS delivery driver said he was going to order one as well.

I've done a lot of flat pak assemblies in my life, and I have to say this is the most quality flat pak I've ever seen out of the box. It's a solid piece of furniture, although it did take a while to put together. And thanks to a previous review where someone indicated that her husband/bf was confused by the instructions and messed up one step that caused some permanent damage, we were able to avoid making the same mistake.Once set up and in its proper place, it's highly functional as I was able to clear up two whole shelves in the kitchen because the bar houses all my bar ware, all about 30+ pieces of cocktail/wine/martini glasses. The stain color is beautiful, the pieces are very well made and I love how it looks in the family room.The only improvement I will expect from my next overstock.com purchase, which is complete not related to quality, is that I always get a tracking email AFTER I have received the goods - and that just completely defeats the purpose of tracking something that is on its way to you.Overall, the best mail-ordered wood made product I have ever purchased for under $300. Highly recommended (but make sure you don't make the same mistake that other person made - and thank you so much, whoever contributed that review saved me from doing the same!).

I LOVE this bar, which I use as a desk in the living room of my small home. It closes up and hides clutter, looks sleek, modern and not like a desk, yet it serves as a place to stash my phone books, all my bills, address book (yes, I still have a non-virtual one), stamps, laptop, etc. etc. It holds an absolutely incredible amount, and the drawer keeps pens, pencils, rulers, stapler and other small supplies in order. I keep a few black baskets on the bottom shelf to organize magazines and a few vases for color and decoration. Assembly was daunting for me -- so many pieces! -- but a friend put it together in just over an hour. However, the pins meant to support the weight of the front, which opens downward into a workshelf, were inadequate and he had to find something more substantial, which was very difficult -- one can't buy replacement parts for this sort of assemble-it-yourself furniture. We managed, however, and even with that hassle I'm thrilled with the results. (It even looked great without the front, and I considered leaving it open.) I have 2 smallish, modern lamps on top and one decorator item, and it's a great look, keeping everything in the room from being the same height and working well with my Asian pieces. Very versatile, handsome and reasonably priced. It also arrived in just a few days, typical of O.

This thing looked beautiful in the picture. It was difficult to put together, the legs at the bottom are really not sturdy. This was so scary i took a saw and cut off about 1/2 below the bottom shelf, took off the door and it is now used as a tv stand in our condo. I wouldn't purchase this again.

This table was impossible to put together, total junk. Don't waste your time or money. I was so bummed out!

The overall look is fairly attractive but the workmanship is unsatisfactory. One of the pieces was damaged and others were poorly designed and thus did not align properly. Putting it together required some creativity to make this work. I was tempted to return it but it would have been too difficult take apart and repack .
