Just Right
It's sturdy with ample support for a good, firm mattress. I was a little timid about assembly, but I put it together by myself in under an hour. All the pieces aligned perfectly and secured with the just a screwdriver and the tool provided. The pieces all arrived without blemish. It looks great in my guest room.

Love the bed.....but
The bed measures 80" long and leaves a 5-6" gap between the mattress and the foot board. Now I have to find a body pillow to stuff at the head of the bed to fill in this huge gap. The standard american full mattres is about 74" long. That is the only problem I have with this bed. Took my daughter 3 hours to put it together. Lots of parts. The included tool got dull in seconds but luckily we had an old Ikea key which did the job. Along with the headboard the bed is very long. Yet, it is sturdy, the slats are vell made and fit great. I can't say that the wood is so " shiny" as it was described here. it's polished, but not a high polish.I like the headboard. It's hard to tell from the picure: the headboard is made of wooden planks which sit on black metal extensions. Gives it a bit of an oriental feel. I like it. I think this bed goes well with any decor. I just need to get over the length and the gap.......kinda puts a damper on things.

Really nice and simple bed
I purchased this bed after reading all of the wonderful reviews on this site. Everything stated is correct. The bed was fairly easy to put together once you get going with it. It is beautiful, simple, and well made. I was so excited when all of the screw holes were perfectly aligned. The slats are anchored, so they won't shift around under the mattress-- this was a selling point for me because the bed I replaced had really cheap slats that fell and shifted constantly. I would highly recommend this bed.

Bedframe from a samurai flick
This is a great bed frame. I combine it with a memory foam mattress and it is quiet. You will not hear a squeak. I am drawn to the Japanese design. Also, I can envision hanging a samurai sword on the headrest board to complete the decor.

It is a beautiful bed frame
The bed frame looks great. Every piece to put together was perfectly fitting. It took some time to put things together because there are lots of pieces, but at the end it turned out to be very modern looking and good quality bed frame. It made my guest bedroom looks more contemporary and it really sticks out with the design. I am very pleased with this order.

Question to the review
You mentioned that the color is a tiny tad darker. Would you still consider it a natural finish or a brown finish. I have a Canadian pine dresser and night stands, I wonder if it will match.
