Silent operation and it does make a difference in terms of filtering the air for cat dander.

Ionic Pro is Great for getting the finest of particles out of your house. While it will not attract dog hair or general clumps of dust, it does wonderful on particles as fine as smells, grease in the air and the finer dust that causes allergies.

The HEPA filter keeps the interior very clean--and this is important in these machines. The noise is minimal. Be sure to order extra ozone plates and clean and replace them often to keep the machine performance from degrading. The ionization is steady, but ozone output decreases with dirty ozone plates. One of the best designed machines of its type. DO NOT expect this machine to be an air filter. It is an air purifier--works differently than filters. Much better, in my opinion.

I have 3 set up in my house with 3 Sharp Plasma Clusters. I'm trying to get rid of 2 IQAir health pro compacts that are just too loud and the pre-filter costs too much to replace every 6 mo. I didn't own the legacy Winix 5300, but from what I can tell this is pretty much the same thing with a smaller footprint, and to me, a more attractive minimalist design. Should also be able to use the cheaper Fellowes AP-300PH filters. The part number in the manual is 115115, same as the legacy unit. These things are amazing. Results from my Dylos laser particle counter were fantastic. 0 particle count at the exhaust. It generally keeps the purifier on the lowest setting in automatic. The count was 9 small particles, and 1 large one. Anything below 75 is excellent, and below 300 is good. The Sharps + IQAir on full blast would get pretty low, but not that low and you couldn't stand to be in the house. After living with the units for a week, they do need to be kicked up manually periodically as the sensor is not triggering on dust. I do it when we leave the house. I don't have a way to see how it does with VOC's, so I can't say how it holds up to a full size IQAir with a V5 odor and gas cell, but I'm not going to miss my IQAir compact that doesn't have that capability what so ever. The fan in the dylos is louder than the Winix on its lowest setting.

The Ionic Pro Turbo Air Purifier is very, very, quiet. I have been using it about a month and it seems to clean the air quite well. It was not hard to clean at all. I can see if you have a lot of gunk on the blades, it would take some effort to clean it off, but, I have not had that problem. I am very pleased so far with the Ionic Pro Turbo!

My husband and I share our domestic lives with a beautiful Ragdoll cat, whose dander causes respiratory problems for me. After just one day of running the Ionic Pro in our bedroom, I felt like I could breathe easier. I definitely was coughing less. And I've continued to feel good. We tried another less expensive air filter that we bought at Home Depot, and it didn't improve the situation at all. Plus, it was loud. The Ionic Pro works its magic quietly. It emits a bright blue light, which bothered me at first during the night, but I quickly adjusted. The Ionic Pro is definitely worth the extra money. I consider it an investment in my health!

This air cleaner is terrific. Easy to clean and no filters to buy. It makes no sound and we will probably buy another one soon for the family room.

This is my third Ionic pro that I've purchased. All of them work, they're quiet and good for large rooms. I've noticed that we sneeze and sniffle a lot less and the ionic bars pickup so much filth, its amazing!!. I'm always amazed at how much pollutants there are indoors. Glad I bought these!!!
HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filters are common in household air purifiers and vacuum cleaners . It is recommended that home air filters should be changed every 12 to 24 months. HEPA filters trap approximately 99.97 percent of airborne particles, making them an excellent option for improving indoor air quality and reducing allergy symptoms. To learn how to change your HEPA filter , check out the following instructions. Changing HEPA Filters: Unplug it. Turn your air purifier or vacuum cleaner off and unplug the power cord. Read More
