I have used this unit for my air tools and it is fine for short bursts. The tank pressure builds quickly so, this is minor to me. Like most people, I am hoping it will hold up for a long time.

Perfect compressor for my needs. Not to big, but puts out the air to do the job.

Works okay, but a bit frustrating that an item that is designed as an add-on for another product doesn't even contain bolts for connecting them together.

I was looking for an Air Compressor that was powerful enough for all of my home & auto's needs, but not too large. The WEN 2279 seems to be a fine product. The first one I received was defective, it filled halfway with air and would not restart as air was used. I received a prompt replacement. This model is large enough that it could be shipped by freight and not FedEx or UPS, since one man cannot pickup this carton alone. My replacement was slightly damaged, with the handle being bent inward so that the air filter could not be installed. I bent/formed the handle back, installed the oil & air filter, and this unit ran great, air was promptly replenished, and it packs great power to fill your auto tires with ease. This fall I will see if it can blow out my lawn sprinklers, another benefit of a large unit. Only time will tell how durable this unit is, but the initial feeling is this is a fine product.

I got this compressor for my father he wanted one for around the garage he read the manual put oil in it used it some. He thought it was a little loud, but it is an air compressor they aren't whisper quiet. He's had it 4 months now and it started tripping the motor overload and now has completely stopped working. After 4 months. Basically he used it for pumping up truck tires and simple stuff like that. Were very disappointed and i wish i had gone for a name brand not internet junk.

I have no complaints about this item. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. I mostly use it to blow up rafts for the pole and to put air in my car tires when needed. It works well for my limited needs. I purchased it using my Overstock dollars. I would recommend this item and purchasing it when it is on sale.

Worked as expected. I haven't put it through any heavy duty work yet, but did find a lot of uses for it I hadn't thought of. I did call WEN customer service with a question, and it was the best I've experienced in a long, long time. The USA based customer service person knew what he was talking about, and wasn't reading from a script!

I bought this compressor to replace a 150 psi, 15 gallon, 3 HP Craftsman, which the motor had gone bad on. I am impressed with this Wen compressor. The motor seems very powerful, the construction seems thoughtful and of quality. The price was $20 cheaper than my local big-box home improvement store.

Like I mentioned in the build quality, my only complaint with this compressor is the cheap plastic air exit valve. It leaked!!! there was no way to tighten it otherwise the plastic valve fitting would snap or break. So i replaced the valve with a metal one I had lying around. This is a great compressor for the price. It seems to be built well, i've been using it daily for a month now without any problems or issue. I would have been more than willing to pay an extra $5 in the price had they manufacturer used all metal valves instead of that cheap plastic crap. I have to wonder how many get sent back due to this little part that is totally fixable! I'd have given this a perfect 5 star rating if it was not for that cheap plastic fitting.
Air tools are powerful and rugged. They are perfect for the professional builder and craftsman as well as the weekend warrior. This air tools buying guide from Overstock.com will help you decide which air tools would be right for your home improvement projects.
Serious construction and home improvement projects require serious tools. When you're embarking on a large project, such as a home addition or major painting, regular power tools may not be up to the challenge. That's where using air tools can make things easier. Air tools, or pneumatic tools, don't need to be recharged, and they are more durable than power tools that use electric motors and batteries. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions that will help you decide if using air tools is the right move for your next home improvement project.
Pneumatic tools are the ideal tools for big remodeling and painting jobs, and they really speed up large home improvement projects. All air tools can be safe when used properly, and anyone who uses air tools needs some essential safety knowledge. Here are some basic air-tool safety tips to avoid some common risks.
Using an air nailer for home improvement projects can speed up jobs requiring thousands of nails a day. A quality power air nailer, or nail gun, can accurately and consistently drive nails without leaving hammer tracks for projects ranging from roofing to installing wood trim and molding. Put the hammer away and choose an air gun, such as a power air nailer, to save energy and time and achieve even nail-driving depth. Buying an air nailer comes with many decisions, including which type of air tool will work best for a given project, the capacity needed and whether or not the nail gun needs to be cordless to access the project site.
When deciding which air compressor to buy, think about the things you plan to use it for. Air compressors have a variety of uses in domestic, commercial, and industrial situations. They are used to fill gas cylinders, fill vehicle tires, and supply pressured air to pneumatic (air-powered) tools, among other things. Knowing the right things to look for in a compressor will help you choose the best one for your money.
A nail gun can be used for almost any project in which you would use a hammer and nail. For large projects, such as framing a house or an addition or installation of fencing, an air gun cuts the time dramatically and increases consistency and stability. These powerful tools can be powered by compressed air, gas or electricity.
Consider that even the smallest handheld paint sprayers are capable of applying paint at five gallons per hour, and professional sprayers put paint on a wall at more than a gallon per minute. Whether you're painting acoustic ceilings, the outside of your house or finishing furniture and crafts, an air gun paint sprayer can be an efficient and versatile tool. Choose an air gun paint sprayer based on both your current and projected needs.
When the job calls for nailing large pieces of material together quickly and accurately, a framing nailer is the right tool. A framing nailer is a specific model of air gun. All power nailers are designed to make the carpenter's job easier by removing the need to hammer, but framing nailers are intended for quick, high-powered projects, unlike smaller models of power nailers that are used for only for precision work. Whether you're building a house or a doghouse, a framing nailer is an air gun that can take hours off your project time and save your muscles some undue soreness.
Adding a new car subwoofer to your stereo system can really enrich the sound quality that you experience in your vehicle. Once you've chosen your subwoofer, you'll need to place it in an enclosure. A subwoofer enclosure provides a box of trapped air for the subwoofer speaker to push against. That air provides resistance for the speaker cone, which lets it vibrate properly to produce deep, rich bass. With a few simple tools, you can put together your own subwoofer box.
If you're ready to take your crafting to the next level, add an embosser to your repertoire. Embossing is used to create three-dimensional designs on paper or cardstock. Embossers emit a heated, low-level air stream over embossing powder, which then melts and solidifies, creating a raised design. Many crafters and scrapbookers use this tool for homemade card-making and scrapbook pages. Embossing is used commercially to create business cards and stationery, too. Take a look below to learn how to use an embosser.
Whether you are adding new shingles to a roof or putting together wood furniture, you may find that a simple hammer takes far longer than necessary to finish a job. If you want to insert a large number of nails quickly, you can instead use an air gun that inserts nails, which is also known as a power nailer. Nail guns come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and each is intended for a different type of project. Before selecting a new nail gun, carefully consider the features and compare them to the type of job you are performing with the tools in your workshop.
If your kitchen could use an update, installing a range hood is an effective way to change the look and feel of the entire room. A range hood is a great way to reduce cooking odors and excess heat from your kitchen. The range hood helps prevent grease build-up around your stove by pulling the vapors from cooking up into the hood and its filters. When you're looking at range hoods, the most significant choice is between a range hood vent that vents to the outside or an under cabinet range hood that simply pulls the air through a filter. With a few tools and some planning, you can install a range hood yourself.

Rivet guns are used to attach two pieces of metal together. A rivet gun is one of the most versatile pieces of shop equipment you can own. Rivet guns can be used to attach gutters to your roof line or side a garden shed with corrugated metal among many other uses. The easiest style of rivet gun to use is the "pop" or "snap" rivet gun. Rivets come in different diameters and lengths, just like screws and nails. Like all air guns, power in a rivet gun is generated by air pressure.
