These lamps are pretty but they do not stand up straignt. Overall it was hard getting the lampshade bolted to the vertical piece. Also,I bought two of the floor lamps and on one the holes were drilled slightly away from where they should have been so I had a tough time getting it together. It definately takes two people. If you don't mind the part about standing up straight, they are okay. I used one behnd an electronic keyboard and the "failure to stand up straight feature" actually helps focus the light on the music.It was so hard to assemble that the shades got scratched in the process, and we were trying to be careful about that.
