This compost bin is a tad bit smaller than I thought it would be. It is large enough for average household and the kitchen waste that they produce.I would recommend getting a larger version if you have lots of yard waste. The construction is sound, though the "legs" are made from hollow metal. I will write again in a few months to see if the legs hold up. I think they should if care is taken when moving the unit. All in all this meets my needs and is what I expected, except the size.
This appears to be an excellant product, although I have not had it long enough to know for sure. What I do know is that it was relatively easy to assemble (my teenage son did that), and it is quite sturdy, despite the lightweight aluminum legs. We have our first batch cooking in it now, and even though it is full, I can turn it turn the bin without any help. As for value, I found this on Overstock for about $50 less than on another discount site.

I really like the compost bin even though it is heavy to turn. I truly disliked having to turn over the compost by shovel and now I don't have to. We also live in a very dry climate and an open compost pile dried out to quickly to rot. I'm sure I'll get lots of use from it. I'm like another reviewer who wished the legs were sturdier, but I think it will be okay. The value as usual from overstock is wonderful and free shipping is awesome.

This is exactly the same one advertised for $50 more in other catalogs and stores. It is exactly what I was looking for. Sets up easy and is easy to load and use.
The metal frame to hold the composter is not as sturdy as I would prefer. One of the pieces came without a necessary hole drilled in it for assembly and rather than hassle sending the whole thing back, I opted to drill it myself. Still, a trip to the hardware store etc...it was a hassle. The sliding door opens recluctantly and with a little more force than you would think, but I guess you don't want the thing sliding open on its own! Ok product but could use improvements before charging this kind of money.
