We purchased this mattress for a guest room, so it won't be used every night. It is quite a good quality memory foam mattress for the price. It comes as a single unit, that is one mattress rather than a "sleep system". I think we put it on the bed frame with the firmest side up, and I would recommend putting the less firm side up. We will probably need to flip it over before the next guest comes to stay. The mattress is the thickness and size described. Originally we were going to put it on a trundle bed frame, but discovered that it is too thick to fit under the twin bed frame the trundle goes with, so we put a thinner mattress on the trundle and put this one on the twin bed frame. Sometimes the inexpensive foam mattresses turn out to be thinner than advertised, but that is not the case with this one.Read More
I could not believe how comfortable this mattress system was for the small price I paid. I used this on a daybed and could not have asked for a more cozy, soft, wonderful mattress!Read More
I purchased this based on reviews for my 3 year old son. I personally like a firmer mattress, so I bought this thinking that it would offer support and comfort since I had previously bought a foam mattress based on reviews from Overstock. This was terrible. I dread when I accidentally fall asleep with my son, because I feel like I've been hit by a truck when I wake up. It's WAY too soft, and has absolutely no support. My back hurts EVERYWHERE and I wake up less rested than when I fell asleep. I'm not sure if it bothers my son or not since he's never been a good sleeper anyway, and he's only 3. But hopefully I can salvage this mattress by purchasing a topper, otherwise I will have to throw it away :( I purchased another mattress off of Overstock based on customer reviews and was very pleased with that one, too bad I didn't have luck with this one. I would not recommend this to anyone who likes full body support and a good balance of softness and firmness.Read More
This is the first and last time I shop here. The quality is poor. The warehouse can read and ship the quanity ordered. And you can't return it after you open it out of the box to see it for the first time. The mattress is very short. I ordered and paid for two that were suppose to be shipped together and the weight said 88 lbs and all the labels said two. When I opened the box to let it do its breathing to my surprise theres only one. Now I see they shipped one after going through a long process on the phone of complaining and I see that one weights 44lbs. Who was reading the original order in the warehouse. Then as I am telling them what the represenative what happened I'm told I have to wait up to 2 days to hear back from the warehouse to see why they only shipped one. I called them 15 minutes from the time of receiving the 1 mattress to file a complaint and also to tell them I was not at all satisfied with the mattress that they did send. I'm told I can't even return it once its opened. I will never order from here again. Very insatisfied with the whole situation. I'm still waiting now it will be approximately two weeks before I can actually put my king size bed together and I,m still sleeping on a air mattress.Read More
My son loves it my husband wants to change our queen size mattress to this type of mattress!! The only problems I found were that - 1. The 3 pieces did not match in size, but no big deal. 2. The mattress cover is just basically a fitted sheet. Why not include a mattress cover that zips or encloses the entire mattress? Every time I change the sheets, I have to make sure none of the pieces come out of the mattress cover. Other than that, the mattress is extremely comfortable and VERY affordable.Read More
I thought this was an excellent purchase. I didn't let it air out for 96 hours like it says you should and the smell was strong at first but it has since dissipated and I have been sleeping great. I think this was one of my better purchases and am very happy that I bought it.Read More
I liked the price and when received it was just as described. We are using it in a loft style bed and my daughter has no complaints about it and has a good nites sleep.Read More
The mattress arrived in 3 boxes, as described, and expanded almost immediately upon unpacking them. Each layer is labeled 'firm', 'medium', and 'memory'. I layered them with the firm on the bottom, then the medium and the memory on top. The included mattress cover fits well and makes you forget that the mattress is actually three separate layers. It fits well on my platform mattress bed frame. The mattress is very comfortable. I've been sleeping on it for a couple of weeks and am very satisfied. I have a relatively weak lower back, and this mattress allows me to sleep in any position comfortably. I highly recommend this mattress to anyone interested in a good night's rest!Read More

Does this work on a regular bed frame that currentl holds a twin matress and box spring set? If so, would this memory foam mattress just sit on top of the box springs?

Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses

FAQs about Memory Foam Mattresses
Many people have heard of memory foam mattresses, but few can tell you what they are made from. Memory foam is a combination of polyurethane and additional ingredients which increase foam's viscosity and density. It was originally developed by NASA to improve the safety of their aircraft cushions, but now, it's used in mattresses, pillows, and other bedding. The soft and inviting material is what makes these mattresses so appealing to people looking for a good night's sleep.
How to Clean a Memory Foam Mattress Topper
When you're deep cleaning your home, you may want to pay special attention to your bed. A memory foam mattress topper can completely transform even the most uncomfortable mattress, but accidents do happen, and an accumulation of dust in even the most comfortable bed can prevent a good night's sleep. If it's time to freshen up your mattress topper, you may be wondering how it's done. Memory foam absorbs water while it is being washed; however, it is possible to wash it efficiently.
Top 5 Reasons for Buying an Air Mattress
Air mattresses aren't what they used to be. Nowadays, air mattresses offer a slew of sleep-inducing features, like pillow tops, memory foam mattress pads and even built in MP3s, vastly improving on their giant-sized, pool-toy predecessors. As features improve, air mattresses, also known as air beds, are becoming more and more popular and are being used for a number of different functions, even in place of regular mattresses. Keep reading to find out the top five ways that you can get the most out of your air mattress.
How to Choose a Memory Foam Mattress Topper
Memory foam, also called "temper foam," was first developed by NASA in the mid-1960s to ensure passenger comfort and protection in airplane seats. Memory foam mattress toppers mold to the body, and then slowly spring back to their original shape. This makes them ideal for those with back or joint pain. However, not all memory foam mattress toppers are the same. Here's how to choose one that will best suit your needs.
Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body. Its ability to conform to the body makes it an ideal purchase for those who suffer from back or joint pain; however, memory foam mattresses aren't all the same, and the prices can vary greatly. No matter what your budget is, though, there is one out there for you.
