This looks great! It has a timer, or you can turn it on and off as you like. Perfect addition to Christmas decor, especially this year. Our under two year old grandkids can't reach it, but they love the lights. They have a felt tree to decorate, undecorate, and redecorate, so this adds some sparkle to that area! Now that I think about it, JOY is not just for Christmas. It might make a reappearance later just for fun.

I love this item! At first I thought overstock was a bit pricey for this item, but once I factored in no tax and free shipping, I couldn't resist. Overstock shipped it to me right away, I received this item in less than 1 week! The logs have a very realistic look, and once lit it really transformed the fireplace. I was excited to use this item with a Christmas dispay--wreath, lighted garlarnd on mantel, and 3 ft. prelit Christmast trees, on either side of fireplace. It looks very festive and elegant, but I think it would look just as beautiful and fitting without the holiday display. This fireplace log is well worth the price. I do agree with another reviewer about the packing material, someting different should be used. I did have to spend a little time picking off the little white staticy balls.

I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my sister who was really needing a hall tree for her winter accessories. It arrived in a large brown box in pieces. There were instructions to put it together, but no picture of the completed item. It is a pretty hall tree, but not made of the sturdiest material. I'm pretty worried that it will fall over if she doesn't have her coats and such balanced just right around the racks. It was a good price, but I guess you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this item unless you are just looking for something to hang hats and scarves only on.

I bought this hall tree for my daughter in law for Christmas. She was thrilled. The storage at the base is a extra bonus. It took her just a few minutes to assemble. Looks really nice in her home.
Traditionally, a young and newly married couple would receive a hope chest, often made of cedar, filled with the items they needed to establish their home together, such as linens, crockery and oil lamps. In fact, the Amish originally called this customary gift a wedding chest. Today, these trunks and chests are often given to young women when they leave home. Mothers fill this storage chest with both practical and sentimental items, including heirlooms and necessities for college or marriage. Beginning the cedar chest tradition in your own home just takes a little bit of time. Read More
