I actually purchased this for our nursery since we have a lot of dark espresso wood and a blue theme going. The base is not really anything special, but the shade is very nice and what makes the lamp. I will add that it is slightly shorter than expected, so just make sure you check out the measurements. Overall I think it is a great value and looks very nice in our baby's room in the corner tucked behind our rocker/glider.

This lamp is very stylish. Love the shiny stand and pulls. The brown shade had a suede look to it and is very modern.

I ordered two of these lamps for our living room. Very nice lamps, modern look, great value. Only complaint was one of the base pieces wasn't threaded correctly but we were able to force the two sections together and the lamp looks fine. Very happy with them.

There is a tacky quality to this lamp. My teenage son thought it looked like something from the 70's. I don't know if I quite agree however, it was a quick and inexpensive solution for a room where kids hang out. I've lost other lamps to rough housing and I won't feel bad if this one dies the same death. I
