I received this bench in record time (3 days)and was anxious to get it put together and on my porch.It was an easy install but once it was up I realized that the finish was not at all as shown in the picture on the Internet.It has a yellowish tone, very irregular color..and a very rough finish...I will need to sand this whole bench down and put a few coats of oil or varnish on it.Just some extra work that I was not planning...and because of this I feel the price was too high.

I bought two of these benches after struggling a bit with buying them sight unseen and unsat in. I am very glad I did. They are an awesome addition to the garden. But there was a bit of work to do before they go there. First off while the benches were very easy to put together there were some screws missing. I needed to wood glue the back planks (just two) and find screws to fit the holes . Tighten up all the screws after the bench is put together. You'll need a long screw driver also. Secondly the finish was tacky to touch and had some mold. I wet sanded the entire benches with teal oil first allowed that to dry and applied aproximately 5 more coats of ragged on teak oil- allowing to dry between coats. I live in the Pacific NW and wanted to give the benches some protection from the rain. The benches are quite comfortable without the need for cushions. They are a beautiful deep mahogany colour and after the sanding and oil are very smooth to the touch. Beautiful and comfortable for the home too!

I ordered two of these benches to replace whicker ones that fell apart, The price is unbeatable, I know I checked, The first thing that strikes you on unpacking them is how warm and rich the color is. Construction is not difficult, all the pieces fit together well and directions are easy to follow. I gave mine a couple of extra coats of UV varnish as this is Florida and the tropics can be brutal on wood. I feel that these benches will endure, so pleased am I with the look, product, and price I have bought a third one, highly recommend. .

I read the reviews and decided to order this bench. I was pleasantly surprised. As others mentioned, it is a darker wood tone then the photo shows, but a natural and rustic (not cookie-cutter) look. During assembly, we took the advise of others and screwed it together lightly and then tighten all the screws as the final step. BRAVO! I have looked around and for the price of this bench (and a wooden rocker I ordered), the look and quality = great value! It is PERFECT for us. Thanks again, Overstock.com

This bench is an excellent value for the money. It was easy to assemble, seems quite sturdy, and is very comfortable to sit on. It looks great in my courtyard and I've already received many compliments on it. My only concern is whether the finish will hold up to the weather. I'm torn about whether to waterseal it (it already has some sort of finish on it) or just let it weather naturally. For now, I'm choosing the natural route. I'd recommend this bench to anyone who wants attractive and comfortable outdoor seating for a reasonable price. This would look great inside too, with a cushion on it, like in a mudroom or sunroom.

I had shopped around my town for wooden garden benches before I checked with Overstock.com. I could not believe the price when I saw it on-line. I decided to order but felt that it must be inferior merchandise. I was delightlfully surprised when my benches arrived. They far exceeded my expectations. They are sturdy and heavy. Similar benches in area shops were twice the price. I'm very happy with my benches. I've already told friends about my experience shopping with Overstock.com.

My husband constructed this bench for me. It took no time at all. The screws are to short and the color is darker than the image showed. That's why I rated three stars for construction. I bought this bench and the milano table. I now have to stain the milano table to match this product. Unfortunately, I loved the color of the milano table better than this brown color. This product is made in Vietnam for those who are interested.

Love it! looks great on the front porch - did not match my rocking chairs, but blended well with the porch railings. Darker than what's on the photo. BUT it's a great seat for my teenagers and their freinds

I just bought this bench, along with the double conversation chairs that match, for our screened front porch. I am thrilled with how they look. They have the look of pieces that cost a lot more. The bench arrived quickly and my husband assembled it rather easily. Some of the screws weren't long enough to screw in properly, so he replaced those with his own. And once it was together one side was a bit shorter than the other so it wobbled a bit. I put a small felt furniture protector under one leg and that fixed the problem. It's very sturdy, even with my three young kids climbing all over it. I ordered a cushion for it for more comfort, although it's quite comfy just as it is; in fact my husband prefers it that way. We've only had it a few days so time will tell how it holds up. We have it on a covered porch so it's not directly exposed to the elements, so I'm not too worried about it. I will be getting some wood oil though to treat it. It's really a beautiful piece that complements our cottage-style house. I've been looking a long time for just the right furniture, and this is it.

I find these benches to be a good value for the dollar. I found outdoor cushions for them elsewhere, and that makes them more comfortable. Also happy that Acacia is an environmentally friendly wood choice. A couple of boards were split where they joined other pieces. But overall, structurally sound.

The holes were drilled on the wrong side of one of the ends so it couldn't be assembled. It's such that you can't just drill holes either - the holes would go through the piece entirely and have nothing to bolt to. We tried for 7 requests, 3 deliveries and 6 months to get pieces that actually fit. The last delivery was an entirely new bench which had the same problem too. It looks like it would be a nice enough bench if you get one that's manufactured correctly, but we finally gave up and will buy a bench locally come springtime.
