  • works great!

So far I am very happy with the product, my fish look good although the pond hasn't formed any ice yet. This is the first year I am shutting the waterfall off and I feel more comfortable now that this aerator is in it.

  • Why is there ice forming around and on top of my pond breather tube.I have chipped it out of the ice twice already.I can see the water hitting the inside of the cap so i know its working but it keeps icing over.

    Guidelines
    • The FAQs on the manufacturer's website states: The Pond Breather from Allied Precision is an economical alternative to operating a deicer in a pond. The Pond Breather is designed to freeze into the ice. A pump suspended below the unit pumps water up through a tube to a point several inches above the ice where it exits the tube inside a clear cylinder. The water falls back down into the pond through the center of the Pond Breather but it releases its dissolved gasses when it contacts the air inside the cylinder. A heat coil inside the cylinder provides only enough heat to keep the water from freezing during this process. The Pond Breather operates at a miserly 40 watts of power compared to 1000 watts or more for most pond deicers. • It is not unusual for this to happen. The cap is slightly larger in diameter than the tube so that when the water comes up the tube and hits the underside of the cap water and oxygen mix...now you have oxygenated water that returns to the pond. But, because the cap is larger, some water can splash outside of the tube and freeze. Even when this has happened to me the Pond Breather, like the pink bunny, kept on going and going.
