Absolutely love this carpet. I purchased the 8 x 10 as well as the 5 x 7. I normally purchase wool area rugs - yet the 8 x 10 is just as plush. The colors (a dark red-more of a deep dark red, sage, cream, and a bit of a blue/steel-very gait).. pulled my kitchen/ informal dining rooms together. I puchased these for hardwood floors (red oak-w/ walnut feature strip)..uba tuba granite counters, a cherrywood furniture. I wanted something nore informal & grandchildren proof. I was so surprised and pleased with these carpets. Note that these work well in a well lit area.. they are on the dark side. I did not use a carpet pad (one is placed under a large table & chairs). I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. I really want to thank everyone who left a rating - I closely read the decriptions and based my purchase on all your input. Thanks everyone... & especially Overstock for having such a great value!

Love this rug. It is absolutely beautiful. Picture on site does not do it justice. I am going to order another.

This is a beautiful rug, but super thin. You must have a rug pad under it or it kinda acts like a blanket. It sheds a little and it a little rough when you are sitting on it. I have this rug in my baby twins room, so its fine for now. I

I'd shopped carefully and for years to find this type of rug. I'm a thrifty shopper, and thought that this was a nice, natural alternative (at about half the cost) to having a manmade fiber carpet remnant bound at the local carpet store. In terms of the color, the rug is more drab than I expected, based on other reviews, but it works very well pulling together a comfortable, home-y family room of saddle brown leather upholstery and craftsman style furniture, as well as sage green walls, terra cotta drapes, and burnt orange pillows (from Ikea). Yet, please be aware that my rug sheds like crazy when vacuumed. There is a small amount of pilling, but the rug nap appears to be literally disappearing from regular vacuuming. While some reviewers claim there is some shedding from this and other rugs like this one, no other rugs or carpets in my home have ever shed in such profusion. I'm worried that this rug will be threadbare in a few more months, and that it will be a tremendous challenge to return or replace, but I'll contact overstock about the shedding issue and try to update this review accordingly.

The online purchase is always a gamble but I decided to give it a shot. To my surprise the rug looks really nice, much better than the pictures online: it has a slight sheen to it ( not tacky or cheap) a nice texture too, as the gray lines are higher than the surrounding tan background, color is in between a medium gray and a warmer gun-metal gray hue, with a tan in the background. Depending from what angle you look at it it, appears lighter ( medium silver like) or darker (charcoal like) gray. It is thin, this is the case with all viscose rugs, but I like it thin for a high traffic living room anyway - it would probably be just fine in the bedroom. The manufacturer's label ( and some other websites) describe it as "sage" not sure where that came from, as it has a very very very slight green hue - but even when I placed other gray things next to it you could not tell. So in reality it is gray and tan really. Overall I am very happy with the look of it, and I really like the darker (masculine?) color scheme a lot. If you are not big on frilly, and like clean cut simple lines, this might be a good choice for you. I am tempted now to buy the orange version for my bedroom.

I have now had my rug for about a month, and I am extremely pleased with it every time I look at it. The checkered pattern gives it richness and variation. This rug has brought my bedroom together in the right way. I definitely recommend purchasing a pad underneath to finish it off. I gave it 5 stars!

I've been looking at this area rug for several months, primarily through the online sales sites of two major home improvement chains. Just by chance, I came across the same rug at Overstock.com and found the best price and the most helpful reviews. I purchased the rug for a good-sized sitting room adjoining our master bedroom. I had a specific color palette in mind while I was shopping around, and the Legacy light blue wool rug had the perfect combination of colors and was offered in a useful variety of sizes, which eliminated any dilemma of finding the right rug in the wrong size. These are the pros and cons of this rug as best as I can describe: PROS - Rug is true to the online sample color. After reading many reviews that stated that the color was more pastel than expected and so didn't match the online photo well, I expected the rug to be paler and brighter in color, but, to my best estimation, the photo online gives an excellent color reference for prospective buyers. The colors are muted with a subtle deepness that gives a richness and immediate impression of quality to the rug. I've checked the rug carefully in different light (overhead, direct natural, and indirect natural) and have found no evidence of pink wool fibers as some reviewers reported were in their rugs. The closest to pink that I've found are a coral/terracotta color used with a rust colored wool. By-the-way, the written description describes the color as primarily blue with ivory, red, sage, and gold accents. Blue as the primary color is accurate as is gold as one of the accent colors, but "sage" is really more olive and "red" is the rust color I mentioned previously. The blend of colors is very pleasing to me and just what I had hoped for! It works very well in my Arts and Crafts-eclectic style home. - Rug is thick and feels absolutely luxurious under my feet. My grandchildren play in this room, so I'm pleased that this cushy, comfy, warm rug is here for them to loll about on. CONS - Rug is off-gassing beyond expectation. I've other wool rugs, and the only ones that haven't had the initial smelliness were those that are hand or machine knotted/tied. This rug is "hand-tufted" which includes bonding the back with glue and then covering it with canvas. The odor may be coming from that glue, as other reviewers suggested. The odor seems to have gotten better overnight, so I'm hoping that it will soon be gone altogether. We are very happy with the Legacy area rug so far. Beautiful and cozy addition to our home and good value for the money.

I have been searching for a while for an affordable area rug to compliment a new sectional sofa set. Sectional is a darker mocha color, walls of room are light sage, and rug was placed on terra cotta tiles. Holy cow--it looks like a designer was in here! This rug is beautiful, seems almost more vibrant than in internet pictures, good quality, and a great decorator accent piece. Thanks to others great reviews--they were all spot on. Love love love our "new" room.

I bought this rug for my dining room and didn't really know what to expect. It is very cool looking! I have no complaints about shedding or smells like some other people did. There is realy neat detail in rug that adds something to the room other jute rugs don't!

The rug is perfect for anyone starting out or needing a different look. My son just got his first apartment and did not want to spend a lot of money. Since the floors were in bad condition, something was needed. This rug really pulled the room together. Great buy for the price with a fabulous look.

I did research for months for the perfect rug within my budget, but still stylish and comfortable. This rug NAILS it!!! I didn't want a thin rug, and this rug is very soft and plush. Not too thick, but the perfect thickness. I wanted a grey rug to hide stains because I have two dogs and a toddler. This grey color is a soft grey, not too dark, but not too light either. It's the perfect grey color. I was worried about other reviews that say its a steel blue grey color .... I looked at it for a few days during different times of the day in natural sunlight. If I wanted it to have a hint of steel grey I guess it could pass as that, but I would be very picky to say that. I think it's grey. The reason it might appear to have a hint of blue is because it's a lighter shade of grey and not a stark dark grey, which I'm glad it s not! Maybe even a hint of sage to it? Again, I was looking for any color variations. I even compared it to other grey items around my house, lol! Don't let that worry you when you order this. I have light green walls and it looks grey in my room. The pattern is ivory, which again is more soft than crisp white. I love it. The rug does not slide easily, but even though I have heavy furniture on it I'm still going to buy some antislip rug tape to prevent some corners from slipping just in case because, as I said, I have two dogs and a toddler. I vacuumed the rug right away and it is so easy to vacuum! Our last rug nothing came out of the and it looked like I never vacuumed. This one everything comes off. And the dog hair! At first I noticed some small fibers from the rug shedding but that has become less and less each day I have had it. That is expected being brand new. It also had that brand new rug smell at first too, but it's fading as well. The border makes the rug look very high quality. All of my friends think I paid triple than what this rug really costs! You will not be let down if you purchase this rug. It's one of my favorite items in my home. It's soft, and not stiff at all. You don't need to even add a pad underneath for comfort, it's plenty thick enough. Buy it!!! You won't regret it ;)

The rug sheds. A LOT. I've had it for a week and have been vacuuming it at least 2 times a day and I have had to empty my vacuum twice already because it gets so full. I can see the fibers everywhere, and it's worse because I have black bookshelves. When I wear dark clothes, the fibers from the rug cling on to it. Also, the rug is course and feels more like an outdoor rug. It's okay value for the price - it's definitely one of the cheapest rugs for the price, but you get what you paid for. Don't waste your time.

I ordered two 8 x 10 for my rustic home. They looked down-right awful on my acid-stained concrete floors, so I immediately removed them. I never return anything so I gave these rugs away. If what you want is a "soft" jute rug with a white/wheat colored plaid design, this one is for you. This rug REQUIRES a pad, unless you want a rug that slides around on the floor with every movement. .I decided to replace one rug with a leather one from Overstock. It is a much nicer look, but at twice the cost.

I somehow neglected to read the reviews on this rug when I purchased it. We looked at so many, I guess I was overwhelmed. For the price, you get a HUGE rug. The problem is, it stretches in the corners, doesn't always lay flat and slides all over the place without a rug pad. It's like having a large jute blanket laying on your floor. If it wasn't so costly to return this, we would have sent it back. We will probably just move it into our playroom when we find a rug with are happy with.

i wanted an affordable rug to replace my high-maintenance, wool oriental. i have pets and just wanted something that i can afford to replace easily. i like the fact that the rug is reversible. it fits the room nicely and is easy to vacuum. one end curls up. i highly recommend a rug pad to go under it.

Overstock has done it to me again! The description of the color for this rug is so far from what is described I am giving it in review only 1 star. Although I like the design and the quality appears good I can't get over the fact that it's sage green and not taupe. When I attempted to return the fact that I had cut the rug out of a plastic bag that was taped all around basically destroying the bag when removing the rug I would have had to pay out of my pocket for packaging not to mention someway loaded it in my car and dropped at a UPS store. My success on overstock is 40%. Buyers beware! Only purchase items that will return easily.

Nice rug if you need to cover a lot of area for only a little cash. Some loose or stray fiber strands on mine but not very noticable. Pleased overall.
