Makes our living room pop! Nice thick wool. Not shedding much. Colors are soft white (not ivory) and true orange.

We purchased this rug for our family room to go along with the orange circular one that goes in our breakfast room. BOTH rugs were exactly as pictured. They feel good on our feet and look great on the floor. We had shopped around and Overstock's prices are impossible to beat.

I went back and forth with this and a couple of other rugs and settled on this one. The design is very William Morris and the colors are lovely--the background is ivory with some gold, the greens are a sage and some olive in the center, orange, and gold. Other reviews mentioned shedding, but it's been nearly a month and I haven't noticed any more than with any of my other wool rugs when they were new. Definitely get a pad for it; the rug itself is thick but a pad always feels better on the feet. The wool is relatively coarse but that means it will hold up well over time. If you're looking for a rug background like old parchment or an amber color, note that this rug is lighter than that. It's not an off-white ivory, but a dark cream with gold flecks. Be prepared for the weight of this - I bought the 9 x 12 and it's hard to handle alone. It was well packaged from the manufacturer, so I was able to get it up a flight of stairs by myself, but I needed help to unroll and spread it. Any packaging wrinkles flattened out within a day or two

I guess I should have realized that an indoor/outdoor rug wouldn't be the softest on the feet but we like the colors and design. It's a beautiful rug but the way it was shipped put creases in the rug that have yet to flatten out. It's been about 2 months and the creases don't seem to be getting any better.

The photos of this rug do not do it justice. It is a beautiful rug. It is described as oriental and yes it is but I feel it has a more modern feel in person. The colors work great in my living room. I have brown, grey and orange in my living room and this rug pulls everything together. Also, The quality of this rug is very nice. The wool is soft to the touch. It has a quality canvas backing and it is a thicker rug. (Great for sitting on it and playing with my kids) It reminds me of a high-end rug from Pottery Barn. BUT at 9' x 12" THIS rug at THIS price is a STEAL!! A 9' x 12' rug from ******* ***** would run you at least $**** + Shipping. I would definitely recommend this rug to a friend. ;)

Love the pop of color in my dining room. A great twist on a classic zebra print. Great price for a large (9' by 12') rug!

When I initially received this rug, I wrote a somewhat scathing, and perhaps unfair, review of the rug...interestingly it never appeared on the site. So, now I've had it a year and I guess I will say I am satisfied, although I don't think I would recommend this to a friend. First, the good. On my moniter the colors show up pretty accurately to real life. The blue is a sky blue, there is a lovely apple green, brown, and beige. This happens to be the basic color scheme for our basement den, so that and the design is what prompted me to buy. Now that it isn't shedding as badly, it looks very nice in the room. Also, initially we had problems with the rug b/c it wouldn't lay flat...it seems quite prone to creasing, well, with time that issue is now resolved. My original criticism remains, it looks fine (now that is is laying completely flat) but doesn't feel very soft or plush in my opinion. I just wasn't astute enough to pick it up, this rug, although wool, is not specified as New Zealand wool. Based on two rugs that I purchased from Overstock, the rug that had New Zealand wool in the description is extremely plush and soft. It not only looks but also feels like a high quality and expensive rug. This "Mayflower Sky" rug on the other hand, although it looks fine, is not nearly as soft nor as thick. I measure the pile height as 1/2". Bottom line: it's adequate for our basement application and for its price. However, I will make a point of looking for New Zealand wool in the future, and look at the pile height in the description more carefully as well.

This rug definitely makes a bold statement in my contemporary living room. The orange is a deep reddish orange. The base color is a rich creamy color that is off white. The pile is nice and thick so I elected not to use a pad. I may change my mind about that later just to protect my rug.
While they can last for many years, wool area rugs need to be taken care of properly in order for you to protect your investment. Improper care can lead to excessive shedding, fading, and wear; these are not signs that the rug is defective, but indications that the rug has not been treated with care. With the proper cleaning products and a little time, you can keep your wool area rugs looking great. Cleaning Wool Rugs: Never use a vacuum with a beater bar. All wool rugs shed, but a beater bar will cause excessive shedding and abrasions to your rug. Read More
