the photo used on the site makes the rug look closer to orange in color on my monitor. i would describe the color as more Salmon like. It does seem to shed a bit, but not terribly so. I did not expect the patterns in the rug to be raised (almost like a raised inlay), but it's nice. plush. thick and very good quality.

The colors in this rug were NOTHING like the online photo. The "rusty orange" was an ugly brown, and I couldn't get it out of my house fast enough. Also, the rug had a rip in it clear through. Overstock made everything right, picking it up and refunding my money, but buyer beware: you get what you pay for.

This rug looks stunning, especially in a location like a foyer. The rug is exactly what I expected. The only downside is that it sheds A LOT no matter how much I vacuum it. New wool rugs tend to do that but this one seems to shed more than "normal."

So I was nervous about ordering a big black outdoor rug, just because I feel like I usually go for the safe beige. But my outdoor furniture has a dark muted black metal with a stone top table and I was looking for something different. After it came and put it down........I love it!!!! It's so contemporary and adds a warm cozy-ness to my big deck. So don't be nervous take a chance!!!! Look rich too! I get lots of compliments on it.

The description says .625 in. thick, its not. Its as thin as an indoor/outdoor carpet. The field color is dark beige, not ivory or cream. This rug should be in a cabin or beach house, NOT a traditional dining room. If you're looking for a more formal rug, do NOT order this one, you'll be greatly disappointed. This rug is meant for an extremely casual lake house/cabin type environment. Website does not accurately describe this rug, very misleading. BEWARE!! I am returning this rug.

This rug is exactly the style I was looking for. The quality of the rug is not excellent but for the price I would say it is a very good value. It is in my dining room and when chairs are moved across it, it sometimes creates pulls in the fabric.

This is an absolutely stunning rug, the likes of which you will never find in a big box store. The pattern (repeat) is quite large, on a 9 x 12 rug, the repeat, which I think resembles an owl, is 3.5 across and 4.5 deep. The pictures used to advertise this rug are of a smaller size - so I wanted to point that out. The colors are very different from the various sites however. The photos on Safevieh site and on this site show a dark chocolate rug with vibrant orange and green floral designs. I was nervous that the rug would look a little too 70's with that color combination but it is hard to find a orange/rust toned rug that would work in an arts & crafts style living room. The description of the rug here mentions a charcoal background, that is inaccurate too. My best description of the rug is muted browns and camel tones. The background is a dusty chocolate brown, the large flowers are a camel shade leaning to the dusty orange spectrum. The other tones in the rug are ivory, rust, and a muted light-mid olive (almost a moss shade). If you google images of the item number MET985b, you will see that most of the photos reflect a bright rug, and one company shows a washed out overlit rug. The reality lies between the two. But I am very pleased with this rug. I think the muted colors will work better than extreme brights. I have chocolate leather furniture and hardwood floors and this rug makes the room. It looks like you could have had it forever, but is stylish and not dated looking. My style is arts & crafts with a traditional bent, and this looks perfect. **I will add that the rug arrived folded up . I wasn't expecting that. I'm hoping it flattens out and lies straight because I still have a few large ripples in it. I purchased the thick felt underpad based on the reviews of similar rugs, and it pairs very nicely with the rug.

We LOVE this area rug- originally purchased the 8 x 10 and decided to return (easy and painless) and exchange for the 9 x 12. It's adds a nice pop of color to our bedroom! Fun but doesn't look cheap and feels awesome walking on it. Don't need a pad!

When I initially received this rug, I wrote a somewhat scathing, and perhaps unfair, review of the rug...interestingly it never appeared on the site. So, now I've had it a year and I guess I will say I am satisfied, although I don't think I would recommend this to a friend. First, the good. On my moniter the colors show up pretty accurately to real life. The blue is a sky blue, there is a lovely apple green, brown, and beige. This happens to be the basic color scheme for our basement den, so that and the design is what prompted me to buy. Now that it isn't shedding as badly, it looks very nice in the room. Also, initially we had problems with the rug b/c it wouldn't lay flat...it seems quite prone to creasing, well, with time that issue is now resolved. My original criticism remains, it looks fine (now that is is laying completely flat) but doesn't feel very soft or plush in my opinion. I just wasn't astute enough to pick it up, this rug, although wool, is not specified as New Zealand wool. Based on two rugs that I purchased from Overstock, the rug that had New Zealand wool in the description is extremely plush and soft. It not only looks but also feels like a high quality and expensive rug. This "Mayflower Sky" rug on the other hand, although it looks fine, is not nearly as soft nor as thick. I measure the pile height as 1/2". Bottom line: it's adequate for our basement application and for its price. However, I will make a point of looking for New Zealand wool in the future, and look at the pile height in the description more carefully as well.

I read multiple reviews and thought about this option for months. I would have loved more of the orange tones but we have used it in an area where there is significant natural light so I am OK with the predominant shades of brown. If you are familiar with wool rugs then you understand the typical shedding process. I love this rug and I am considering buying a second for the other half of our living space. We works so well in our very contemporary home!

I knew what I was getting, as I have been using these indoor/outdoor carpets for some years now & prefer them to wool.

Bought this rug for our living room that is very neutral, need a bit of pop and a quality rug. Its quite thick and the colors are just great. Colors go very nicely, kitchen walls are burnt orange so it ties the two together beautifully. Excellent quality for such a low price, as I have done much comparison on wool rugs. Feels excellent under foot. My husband is still on the fence about its looks, but loves the feel. Its still shedding quite a bit, but thats just life with new wool rugs. I have three indoor dogs so I vacuum alot anyway and know it will calm down once the loose fibers have surfaced. Would highly recommend........Overstock has come through again, thanks for great products at reasonable prices!

I bought this to provide a clear division btwn Living and Dining room. It is a beautiful pattern and the colors are great for my area. I see the orange but it is not as fully bright as in the picture. I plan to use this in my current home (southwestern lodge style) and then move it with me when I move to a more contemporary style. The pile is nice and thick and getting wool ,which is supposed to wear very well, for such a low price is a real bargain.

I can't believe the rug is "indoor/outdoor"..It is soft to the touch and beautiful to the eye!!! I'm using it in a kitchen nook...but would be happy with it anywhere!

I purchased this rug and it was delivered tightly and expertly wrapped in several layers of plastic and brown paper. Opened it up, and found good and bad things: On the good side, it's lovely and exactly what I wanted. The colors are as described; sand-yellow, very muted sage, and some thin burgundy lines which could easily pass for burnt orange (as I wanted) with the right accent fabrics in the room. The rug appears well-made and is relatively plush, maybe 5/8" thick and tightly woven. However, on the bad side, the very bad side, the rug was damp all through (from the warehouse, I guess) and absolutely reeks. Perhaps this was the 'herbal wash' that wasn't allowed to dry before shipment (?) This is a return item, unless the smell goes away. Have only had it 1 day, and we'll be taking it out in the hot sun for 3-4 days to air and dry out. Then it'll come back indoors and if the smell's truly gone, great! If not, it goes back. The smell is really strong, not just new wool rug smell. Not sure if there's mildew and mold smells in there too, who knows how long it was damp like that, but as of now the odor is unacceptable in nature and strength. Too bad, because the rug is perfect for my room. Here's to hoping!

I ordered 2 of these rugs (8 round & 8 x 11) based on great reviews. After ordering I was apprehensive as I had neglected to check pile height and they are listed as .625 which is great except that I actually wanted something a little thinner. Trying to find just that right height between indoor/outdoor which is usually scratchy & too thin and rugs that are soft and plush. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened each of them and found them to be closer to .50 than .625. Enough plush and softness that I dont need extra padding. Delivery was practically overnight, as I received these rugs 4 days after placing order! Color is spot on with my computer monitor for both rugs which was also a nice surprise beige background with light brown diamonds and white rings.. Neutral contemporary look will give me lots of options to add color with accessories which is my decorating preference. My only neg is sizing. 8x11 is really 107 x 77 and 8 round is actually 79 and I really wanted those extra few inches but these sizes seem to be pretty common.

I love this rug! It has thick pile and thick loops. The colors are brighter than the photo. The colors work great in our room - greens, beige, reddish orange, pale blue and lighter orange.

Although more rust than orange I do love the quality of this rug. It was delivered in about a week and looks awesome. Plush and cushy.

I was looking for a contemporary design to cover a wide area in my living room. I am extremely pleased with the quality of this product. The pile is thick and the wool is soft and very comfortable. The design is casual and chic and will complement almost any decor. Be aware that although the description says brown, this rug is most definitely charcoal gray, which I prefer. The seafoam green and chartruese are identical to the picture. The lighter color is cream, not white. Surprisingly, the orange is several shades lighter than shown, more of an ecru than orange, but still pretty. I've had this rug for about a month and the shedding is minimal. It cleans easily with a floor sweeper or vacuum. I've received tons of compliments and am well pleased with this purchase.
