This was nice quality - however ours had a defect - line running thru it - like a slice. They took it bag - no problems or questions. I'm sure another one would have been fine - however my daughters didn't like the white was "tannish" they wanted more white and lime green. We ordered another geometric shaped lime and white - same size, brand, etc - and it's excellent. I give this five stars because it was nice and if wasn't a defect - which I'm sure was random - it was pretty and sturdy and nice.

I wanted a rug that was casual/rustic/natural like jute, but without the scratchy feel and shedding fibers of jute. This was the answer! It is very soft to the touch, silky even. Some of the fibers have a slight sheen but not enough to make it shiny at all. The light gray color is subdued - neither blue nor green - and would go with anything. This is a pliable and soft rug with no backing, so you do need a good felt pad or it will slide and become mishapen. This is obviously a high quality hand woven rug. With proper care (no rug beaters, people!) it will definitely last. I would not consider it to be reversible however as the underside just looks like an underside!

I used this as an indoor rung in my dining room. It was a great pop of color for the space. It was in a high traffic area, overlapping a walkway to a patio door. The rug held up very well, kept its color, and was easy to clean. I had it for 3 years and didn't have a space for it when I moved. If I had a need I would certainly buy this again. Note: this is a very thin rug, no padding.

Most indoor/outdoor rugs do not look this nice. The green in this rug is a bit more olive/yellow but it still looks great. The border and small dark areas are a chocolate brown. This looks great in my dining/kitchen area. I would definitely recommend for indoor use.

Very nice but I think it would be much better as an outdoor rug. Not quite thick enough for indoors.

I actually bought this for my living room. I wanted something more durable than a typical indoor rug with a low pile. This rug fits the bill and for the money it cannot be beat. Friends were surprised at the look for the price. I bought the green. It is sort of a muted teal - simple and clean. Two aggravations: it takes a while to flatten. You should expect to leave books or furniture sitting on the corners & edges for a few weeks to get them to lay flat. Secondly there was a small snag in the weaving but my couch sits over it so it was not worth the aggravation of attempting to return/exchange.

This rug was a bit of a splurge for me at the time I purchased it, but I absolutely loved this rug! The color was perfect and the graphic was strong but not overwhelming. It fit perfectly into my living room, in terms of size and with the rest of the room decor. The first several months there was an alarming amount of green fiber that would appear in the vacuum after cleaning, as mentioned in other reviews, but that subsided and I breathed a sigh of relief and continued to enjoy the rug. At the end of six years, I began to notice thin places along the areas of highest traffic, which were mostly in the center. Gradually these spots became truly bald. I did get eight years of use, though I was increasingly unhappy in the final year. Perhaps there are those who would think that it is unfair to expect that it would last longer, but I would have thought that a well made wool rug should have given us better service (10 years, looking good, at minimum, with some increasing visible wear after that.) I had to replace it with a different rug, made of synthetic fiber. Fortunately I'm pleased with how that looks. I would much prefer having natural fiber and keeping the petrochemicals out of the waste stream, but I couldn't afford to purchase another like this, particularly with my decreased expectations regarding durability. (Big Sigh!)

I debated about making an online carpet purchase for about two months before I decided to take the plunge and buy this one. Given that it was a large item (9×12), and cost prohibitive to return if I didn't like it, I was more than a little nervous when I placed the order. I did read previous reviews stating that the carpet is NOT the gold color represented in the pictures, and that being wool, this carpet would naturally shed fibers over time. When we finally unrolled the carpet yesterday, I was so pleased! It is definitely a light brown background, not gold, with a medium brown border. The blue is almost denim, with soft gray-greens and lighter beige accents throughout. The red is deep, with a gray undertone, which matches the other colors beautifully. I would say that if you want a colorful carpet that is still muted enough to act as a neutral element in your room, this will fit the bill. I gave it a thorough vacuum yesterday and dumped put a full canister of fibers. I vacuumed it today and ended up with half a canister. My kids have rolled around on it all day today, and while they have some wool fibers on them, it's nothing dramatic. I do anticipate that it will continue to shed. This is totally normal. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my risky purchase. The color scheme is pleasant and the pattern will hide stains or dirt well. It is soft underfoot, and once the rug pad I ordered arrives, it will be quite comfy indeed. I couldn't be happier! Update: Turns out this carpet is a real fuzz bucket, as my dad used to say. I think my kids have accelerated the process since they have been using the carpet as a Lego building ground. I have vacuumed it twice daily and emptied a full canister of fibers after each time. I'm optimistic that it will slow down soon.
While they can last for many years, wool area rugs need to be taken care of properly in order for you to protect your investment. Improper care can lead to excessive shedding, fading, and wear; these are not signs that the rug is defective, but indications that the rug has not been treated with care. With the proper cleaning products and a little time, you can keep your wool area rugs looking great. Cleaning Wool Rugs: Never use a vacuum with a beater bar. All wool rugs shed, but a beater bar will cause excessive shedding and abrasions to your rug. Read More
