I love this area rug. I was looking for a gray rug with geometric design to match our beige, yellow and dark brown leather living room scheme. Other rugs were too floral, or the gray was the wrong color- too sage or too blue. This is a lovely soft gray and the geometric design is in ivory, not stark white. Definitely get a non-slip mat for underneath as it's thin and slides easily. The rug is not a thick pile, soft rug. It is handwoven, on the thin side and a bit scatchy. We don't mind this because it's more for decoration, if you wanted a soft comfy rug, this is not the right choice. The only down side I see right now is that the corners will curl up- I did see that you can use traction tape and heavy washers taped underneath each corner and that will help weigh them down.

A beautiful, substantial rug! Looks perfect underneath our kitchen table. Geometric pattern adds a nice contemporary tone to the room. Excellent rug for the money - very pleased with my purchase!

I wanted this rug for my kitchen, a beautiful white Victorian style with a 'mantel' type cabinetry hood over the range, and blue and white china and decor. I wanted a geometric / trellis type accent, to pull the blue down to the floor, since most of the blue was in the porcelain on the mantel and on the wall and tabletop. This rug did that perfectly-- the perfect style to add for a nice mix. Looks great on my dark wood floors. Haven't noticed the shedding that someone else mentioned. The price was great, and you just cannot beat Overstocks shipping. I am a longtime customer, and will be back many times, I'm sure.

I read a previous review of this rug; all the negatives--namely sparkles and looking like a fortune-teller's decor--were selling points for me. We're aiming for a richly-toned, lush, gypsy/Near East/Victorian/Persian transitional style, with a touch of shabby chic. The rug is a deep red wine color; it doesn't have variation of shade. The pile is thick and velvety along the lines broad geometric lines. However, the spaces between the lines are the "questionable range". Depending on your perspective, you could compare the shorter-piled sections to either sparkling beadwork or burgundy astro-turf. It's very scratchy and I seriously question the suggestion that it is made of wool. That said, it's kinda like a foot massage to walk barefoot over it--soft thick velvety hills and low, exfoliating valleys in every step! The backing feels stitched, not just glued, and it's quite heavy. Seems like it will hold up well, even in our house with 2 dogs and a young boy running across it constantly; we just got it, though, so time will tell. The delivery was very fast. However, it appeared to have been dumped unceremoniously on my front porch in a heavy rain storm. It wasn't even entirely under the covered portion (which would have been the right size to accommodate it). The rug was wrapped in plastic (like Laura Palmer) well enough that it seems not to have gotten wet at all. We're going to keep it, but it's definitely better for a playful decor; the sparkliness wouldn't work in a more traditional living room.

LOVE the design for this rug. It is SO beautiful. My only issue is that in my house it got a lot of wear and it has enough light parts of the rug that they got a bit grubby. The good news is that it cleans really well. In the end, I replaced it with a rug that was wool and cost nearly $***, so for the price, this is really a great rug. Everyone who saw it commented how pretty it was. So... Good and bad but overall it was 4 stars.

Nice rug with an attractive geometric pattern. The color of the rug matches the pictures with the lighter blue color. Others have said the rug is scratchy and it is a bit if you feel it with your hands, however, it is nicely textured and feels good on your feet. The corners tend to curl up a bit but maybe I just need to flip the rug over. Others have complained about a musty smell, but I had no problems with it.

The rug is plush with a nice geometrical design that goes well with my decor. I like that the borders are black, which will show less dirt, as the borders seem to get dirty very quickly. However, the excessive shedding keeps me from recommending it wholeheartedly. But aside from the excessive shedding, it is a decent rug.

We were a little unsure about buying a big heavy rug from Overstock, but so far are very glad we did. Pro's: It's a great looking, thick, handmade rug. The texture and geometrical design are really nice looking. The picture doesn't do it justice. Also, FYI, the color isn't quite as tan as shown in the picture. It has a little more of a natural color. We're happy with it. Con's: 1) It's not a perfect rectangle. Its a bit lop sided. I am sure this is accounted for by saying its handmade. However, we have another handmade rug from India, which is a perfect rectangle (although it was much more expensive). We were setting this rug in close proximity to another rug. It took a little bit of work and creativity to make it look right. If I had not set it close (18 inches) to something else that is a straight line, I would never have noticed. 2) Shedding. It does shed, but not bad enough to make us want to send it back, or to be unhappy with the purchase. With each vacuum cleaning, it seems to be a less and less. We've had it for about a month, and don't really notice it all. As a comparison, this rug sheds much less than a $$$ rug we once bought from Lowes which shed constantly for a year. However, unlike a fine hand knotted wool rug, this one does shed. No two ways about it. I would just say, don't sit on it if your in a nice paid of dress pants, or if your wearing warm-ups/wind pants.

We were looking for an area rug for our basement living area that had a slightly modern look (without being too modern if you know what I mean) and this has worked out great. We purchased another Safavieh rug from Overstock and loved that one, so we expected the quality of this rug to be on par, which it is. We had returned another rug we purchased from Overstock to get this one, which was made by Surya. The rug was fine (just the color turned out to be too dark for us), although the quality was not as good as the Safavieh. I would say the color has a slight blue tint in the gray and the white pattern is an off white, which is nice. I was a little nervous about the pattern but once it was put down in our space, it looked great, with an elegance and modern flare. We like that it is a little different than the traditional geometric patterned rugs. The rug sheds some and will fill up your vacuum fast, but seems to be getting better with each vacuuming. Overall, this is a very nice rug and I especially like the quality of the Safavieh rugs I have purchased. I hope this helps.
