I bought this rug when my baby was starting to learn to crawl because I wanted a soft, high pile rug that was made of a natural fiber... and matched the brown sectional couch in our family room... and was stylish yet fun... and wasn't too expensive. Yes, I had a lot of demands and this fit the bill perfectly! We've had the rug for six months now and have no regrets -- it's a great rug! The only downside is that the rug does shed a bit, but that is common with wool rugs. We vacuum every day or two, but we would have anyway because we have cats. If you don't plan to vacuum regularly, I wouldn't recommend this rug. Otherwise, it's a great rug. It's soft and comfortable enough for me to sit on it and play with my baby for extended periods of time. I just ordered another rug from this company through Overstock that has the same material and pile (for a different room) because I'm so pleased with this rug.

My primary objectives in finding a rug for our baby's room was to find something made of all-natural fibers that didn't look too babyish. I LOVED the way this rug looked, but when I got it, the materials listed on the label turned out to be wool & viscose rather than wool & cotton, as the description had said. It had a slight chemical-y smell from the viscose, but I must admit that I have an unusually sensitive nose. :) If you are not bothered by some synthetic fibers, this rug is gorgeous, thick, and soft, and the different textures of the design are really cool. It's still a great value and I would recommend it to anyone who isn't as picky about materials as I am.

Pretty bummed out by the EXTREMELY STRONG chemical odor coming from the rug. We purchased this rug for a nursery - and it definitely DOES NOT have LOW VOC's. I am extremely disappointed. The rug has been opened and out on the floor for over two weeks now, and we have had fans running constantly the entire time, venting the room with a box fan pointing out the window. And the smell is STILL THERE. Baby isn't due for 7 weeks, so I am really, really hoping that the rug will not smell by then. In the meantime, the entire room has to be closed off while I try to remove the odor and prevent it from spreading to other places in the house. I regret not buying a wool rug. I will never again purchase ANYTHING other than a natural-fiber wool rug.
