I took a chance on this rug and was pleased as soon as I unrolled it. Yes, the pic colors are off, the background is truly a cleaner putty color, the blue is pretty accurate, the rust is more just brown and the gold is really more a softer color, hard to define. So the rug is soft but defintely a graphic pattern. I thought I might have over done it, but it does cheer up my apt. No unusual shedding except for what my cat pulls out, and she does like to pull on it, just like my previous carpet. For the price and $1 shipping, I'd say it should last at least 3 years or so and definitely be worth it. Heed other reviewer, can't imagine the cost for returniing, probably too high.

Great quality rug. I ordered the green rug. The color is not the same. It's slightly lighter than the picture, but still works for us. We do have a little shedding but not too much. As much as expected with any rug. The care label on the back tells you that the rug will shed for up to 3 months with normal care. Backing on the rug is pretty strong. We love this rug, but the only reason I gave it a three star rating is for the fact that the rug is not uniform throughout. We have the 5 by 8 rug and it is 8 feet in length, but the width is 5 feet 1/4 inch on one side and 4 feet 11-1/2 inches on the other. Ours looks like a trapezoid. The three quarters of an inch is pretty noticeable, but we still kept the rug because the flaw ended up looking pretty cool.

This rug is very interesting, in a good way! Its soft and the "star bursts" are actually made of ribbons that have been sewn into the wool rug and stick up about 1/3 of an inch, sort of like shag. Very cool. An issue... I've vacuumed it once so far and a few of the ribbons started to unravel. I cut the lose threads and now they look fine, but I'm concerned about the longevity of the rug. I might try putting a little bit of glue on the ends of the ribbons to keep them from unraveling, but that will be quite a project as there are a lot of them!

Bought this for my family room to match existing furniture and decor. I already had green chair & 1/2 and ivory colored sofa and chaise with green/rust/ivory decor so this RUG matched perfectly. I love the quality and the 5.3x7.6 size is perfect on the hardwood floor. There was more rust color in the rug than I expected but it didn't take away from my decor. It's green, rust and beige circle shapes with a ivory/creme background.

Altough the thickness and texture were some different than the photo portrayed, I like this rug even more than I had anticipated. It is a thick, coarse hemp; I would estimate 1/2" to 3/4" thick. The hand-knotted aspect is quite apparent with varying sizes of knots. The color is slightly varigated as shown. It is a beautiful, rustic addition to any room.

I bought this rug for the main living space in our condo. I had been waiting to write review until I had had the rug long enough to decide if I liked it. I have LOVED this rug for over six months now. The color, the style, the durability... I vacuum it weekly (on a high pile setting) and it has held up great. One thing I do not think the reviews that I read captured, however, was how shaggy this rug is. The pile is 1-2 inches. It is beautiful and so stylish but, as a pet owner, I would have NEVER bought a "shag rug" if I had seen it in person. Last night, the unthinkable happened.... my dog threw up all over it. I died. I thought it was the end of my beautiful rug, and was immediately reminded of why I never thought of buying a shaggy rug. However, with some elbow grease and the upholstery attachment on my carpet cleaner, it is as good as new!!! After that, I had to write this review. This rug is so great. For $XXX, you will not go wrong. Have you seen the cost of other rugs?! If you love the look of a shag rug, but fear the cleaning... do not hesitate. If you are looking for an heirloom rug... well, then don't buy a rug online. I can tell that over the years this rug will get dirty, so you are probably looking at a life span of 3-4 years. Vacuum as often as possible. Pros: Super soft Dog loves it (maybe too much) Kids love it (maybe a problem since the dog loves it so much) Guests love it Super durable Cons: Defnitely two-toned, but honestly, that so much better for dirt and potential stains, so really a "pro" Shows some dirt in the traffic areas eventually.

I love this rug, and would buy another one if I had more hardwood flooring to cover. The care instructions sheet that came with the rug addresses the shedding issue, but I was still amazed at the amount of shed. I filled and emptied my Dyson canister NINE times in the first 30 minutes of vacuuming, before I got worn out and gave it up for the day. I wish rug manufacturers would hire somebody to vacuum these suckers before they ship them out. I've had the rug about 3-4 weeks now, and I vacuum it daily. The shed is down to about 1/2 canister a day. That said, this rug, at this price, is still a good value. It looks terrific in my home office.

I just received this rug after returning another. Mine is very representative of the photo on the web site. However the thickness is 3/8" and not 1/2" as noted on the description. There are areas of the rug that have a more worn in look but I think this adds to the vintage aesthetic. Appears to be well made and rolled out flat right out of its packaging. Overstock was also very helpful in returning the first rug purchased.

Overstock is the best place to buy rugs - the prices cannot be beat. In fact, you can buy a high quality real wool rug typically for less than some cheap synthetic rug at a local store. Wool rugs wear much better and feel so much more luxurious! They are dense and thick and usually really soft. That said, you are taking a bit of a risk buying a rug online: you have to go by the photos and trust that if you don't love it, you are not likely to return it because shipping something this large is a pain. Fortunately, I love this rug - it is sage green (unlike the photo which makes it look more gold). It does have some light tan/brown/gold in the design. Just know the primary base color will appear green and not gold. The only reason I did not give this rug five stars is because it is not all that soft. It is a nice dense pile, and about 3/4 inch thick (tall) from the floor, and looks wonderful. But, compared to several other wool rugs I have purchased from Overstock, it does not feel soft and silky under foot - more like a normal synthetic pile carpet. I still love the rug and it makes the perfect addition to my living room, making the style rich and classic. A rug like this will really make your room and pull everything together. I just find my dogs laying on the other wool rug in the room next door to it (a rug I also got on Overstock, probably a different brand), which is a softer wool (even the dogs can tell the difference). So, this is great sage green rug, of very nice quality--just not very soft to the touch.
