I was on the fence about sending this carpet back, but decided on the path of least resistance and kept it. I still can't decide if I like it. But it's here doing its job in my living room. It's a good solution for not showing dirt - my husband has RLS and is always rubbing his shoes back and forth on the carpet in front of his chair. That is why I ordered it (plus it's kind of nice with my deep cobalt blue chairs) but it doesn't feel like it will hold up under much wear and tear. It is VERY blue. VERY. There is no other color to give it a feeling of richness and contrast, and it's true what others have said about it - it looks like a pixilated photo of an oriental carpet. I keep looking at it and wondering about it. It is kind of dramatic, but do I actually like it???...

The 5 X 8 rug arrived in just 5 days after ordering, much quicker than expected. I was nervous when opening the very large rolled package wondering how I would ever be able to package it to return if it was not what I wanted. No need to worry. The colors were perfect for the room, even better than I had hoped. The thickness and weight are very satisfactory, close to other very expensive orientals I have in my living and dining rooms. This one is in my office in the area under my desk and I am so pleased I am thinking of ordering a smaller version for another area of the room.

Great quality. Blends in well with my Oriental furnishings as the photo indicated. I like the untrimmed edges'

The rug quality was so much better than I would have expected for the price. Thank you for carrying such a wide variety of styles. I wanted a rug to bridge the gap between two orientals and an animal print. Perfect.

I like it very much. My wife is not as much a fan of Oriental; she is more about contemporary design. Charles

I bought this rug along with a matching 2x8' runner. There were significant color differences between the 6x9' and the runner version. While the design of both was clearly the same, the dye lots of the wool used to make them were very different. The larger rug appeared much more muted in color than you would assume from the online photo (e.g., in the larger rug, the lightest colors was a khacki beige while in the runner the corresponding design elements were a much different light yellow) While I'm not expert in oriental type rugs, the tightness of the design seemed "tighter" and more precise in the runner than in the larger rug. Since my plan was for these to be adjacent to each other, I decided to return both. If I had bought just one, I probably wouldn't have face the problems that I did and may have just kept the one. Heads up though - there does seem to be differences in dye lots with this rug and how closely the colors match up to the online photos might be an issue.

We love this rug. My husband wanted an oriental, and I wanted something more modern, and this fit the bill for both of us. The color is simply gorgeous and very updated. It is extremely soft to the touch, and is a good heavy rug even though it is a very short weave. It does not move on our wood floors. Don't be afraid of this one!!

This rug exceeded my expectations. I did find the measurements accurate and the braided tassels are not as long as some other reviews state. The tassels are about 1" width X 6" length. The rug is thick, somewhat shaggy and pretty exotic. It is a nice accent piece for any space that needs some spice. The first night I had the rug on my living room I had an unexpected visit. My visitor was very tempted to try out my new rug. The rest is not too family oriented. Thank you to my new rug!

Very nice rug with a great feel underfoot - either in shoes or barefoot. Ended up buying three - the Ivory for the kitchen and as a runner in the hallway and the Red for the adjacent family room. Both color patterns are bright and cheerful and the two color patterns are virtual reciprocals of each other, providing a pleasing but subtle continuity to the large open area. The Ivory has a pale ivory center and a cranberry red border while the Red has a cranberry red center and a pale ivory border. The ivory color is shaded toward white - much nicer than the yellowish or beige cast of many orientals. The rugs are identified as 256,000 points/square meter and display a very clear definition, unlike some orientals that present a coarse or blotchy appearance. Both the area rugs and the runner were re-rolled for a day with the pile on the outside to reverse the curl, and when installed a day later lay flat showing no upturn at the ends. All three rugs were installed using Safavieh Grid Non-slip Rug Pads - an 8' x 11' pad cut in half to for the 5'5 x 7'7 area rugs and a 2' x 8' pad from set of two for the runner. These pads seem much more substantial than others available and the 1/2 inch grid pattern made cutting them to size quite easy. The pads arrived cut in straight lines not necessarily following the grid pattern. There was sufficient material for me to re-cut them to follow the grid lines and I was able to align them to the rugs starting from one end and adjusting the pad as the rug was unrolled. The pads are definitely non-slip and the heavier weight pads add additional cushion to the rugs.
