Yes you may use a longer down rod, it does have 3 speeds and the blades may rotate in reverse direction for item 13943110.If you have any questions, please let me know.

What is the minimum that this fan hangs from the ceiling? Can this fan be transitioned to ceiling hugger so it doesn't hang so low?
