The table arrived three days after I ordered it, which was much faster than I had anticipated. My husband and I spent a little over an hour putting it together. The assembly was easy and straightforward. The worst part, however, was screwing all the screws in by hand. The quality is pretty good and the finish is quite pretty. It's dark brown with a hint of red. My only complaint is that the table top is not one solid piece, but three pieces that are butted together. We didn't get the top pieces butted together tight enough, so there was a slight gap in between the pieces. The table is in front of a bright sliding glass door, so the light that came up from under the table illuminated the gaps. There was no way I was going to take the entire thing apart, so I climbed underneath the table and covered the gaps with black tape. The gaps are hardly noticeable now. I'm not totally wowed, but I'm still pleased with the purchase.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a clean lines table that was higher than standard tables and sturdy. I needed it for dining part of the time and as a work area most of the time. Since it is counter height, I can sit or stand and work comfortably. The only down side to this table was the assembly. The pieces are very heavy and awkward to handle alone. In addition there is a lot of wood glue to use (included) and about 80 screws. By the end my hand and wrist were junk and it lead to me accidentally putting a scratch right in the top.
The height of the table top is too high. My husband wishes we wouldn't have bought the table. We don't use it too much, or I'd probably have the same thoughts. The part that bothered me was that is was difficult to put together. Definitely a two person job. Needed one person to push sideways while another put in the screws downward. Also, I love the color, but I think a small piece of tape got left on top and varnished over. Unfortunately that was on the top side. If this was smaller and didn't have the flaw, it would be perfect.
