The overall apperance is great. However, did notice that the stain was not uniform and in some places could see brush strokes - barely shows once it is put together and have things on it though. Assembly could have been easier - some wooden pegs and holes did not match up and had to be "forced" in. Kind-of tricky to get all shelves to line up and stay in place while inserting screws. May want another person helping. Using wood glue helped with wooden plugs(they kept popping out). Overall, great bookcase for the $.

This bookshelf is a great value. It's well built and looks great. Although I put it together myself in about 45 minutes, an extra pair of hands would have helped. It was well packed with no chips or dings of any kind.

i ordered this bookshelf, expecting it to be more or less the same color, size and material, as i saw on a picture. But what i've got its completely different and it doesn't any interior! The material is wood, which doesn't shine and wasn't painted at all. I don't recommend it to anybody!!!

I bought this bookshelf to use as a tv stand for my 32"....great quality, perfect for my purposes....then my Mom saw it and wanted one...she liked it so much she wanted me to return her Mother's Day present (a very expensive steamer!), and get one for her...which, of course, I did...and she loves hers too!

I ordered this bookcase to use next to my computer table primarily for storage of supplies so I haven't put very heavy books on it. It took a little bit longer than anticipated, based on prior reviews, to assemble the bookcase. However, once done it looks great. I have placed wicker baskets on the shelves to hold home office items but I think that it would work equally as well holding books or other media. In all I was most satisfied with the quality for the price paid.

Overall this is a good buy. The holes on the bottom cross piece were not drilled evenly so that piece is a bit off straight. The piece still looks good and functions well. It was not easy to put together; I think it is a two person job.

I was quite pleased with this purchase. The book shelves look great (I got the natural finish). There was a small bit of damage to the top shelf, but it doesn't show. I would caution you that the hex wrench that is included is made of a very soft metal. Do yourself a favor and find a strong one of the correct size before you begin. The screws are fine, but the wrench itself strips easily.

I actually bought this to use it as a shoe rack as all the "shoe racks" have shelves too close together that they'd fit running shoes or shoes with an inch heel and nothing else taller. Results: it's perfect! I have my short/ankle boots and few shoe boxes. I put it together relatively easily and other than a small ding at the corner of the mantel portion, it looks very nice and it's very sturdy. Here's a measurement they don't give (I don't remember seeing it) in the product description, shelf height: bottom 2 = 10.5 in, top = 9 in.

We needed something in our family room to hold DVD's and books. This is perfect. It's small and rather open so it doesn't looked cramped or overwhelming. Good quality REAL WOOD for a pittance. I'm very pleased and would highly recommend. It's size makes it possible to go almost anywhere: hall, entry, bedroom, etc.

Received item quickly and in good condition. Directions were simple and straightforward. Do suggest having a rubber mallet or rubber handled hammer to tap pieces together. Assembled product looks nice and assembly went quickly. Free shjipping was a nice bonus.

This Mission Style Solid Wood Bookcase is very pretty and sturdy and stable.I am currently using it in the foyer of our home. I wanted to have a nice-looking "landing pad" for my husband to put his keys & mail & stuff in as soon as he enters the house. This is the perfect piece for our needs; we also store some bric-a-brac and books on it as well.It is a bit on the smallish side as someone else previously mentioned here, but that just happens to be precisely what we need for the space we have available at our entryway. If it was any larger it would be awkward to walk past it, and they DO state the measurements on the website, so if you're not sure, get out the measuring tape. My husband and I put it together in about 1/2 hour or so. He says the final product looks "classy", and I have to agree.I love it and would definitely buy it again or recommend to a friend. Appearance: Beautiful deep cherry color - matches my other mission pieces perfectly. One piece was slightly scratched upon arrival, but nothing a little furniture polish didn't fix. One drawback: The cheap looking, almost orange screw hole fillers. You know, after you attach the shelves with the screws, one side of the rack has a hole where the screw is countersunk? So those wood fillers to cover the holes make the piece look - shall we say - not as classy as it could be. Plus, they didn't include glue with the supplies so those little suckers keep popping out. Put some glue in there if you want them to stay. Assembly: It is nearly impossible to put this together solo. I highly recommend a second pair of hands in order to hold and line up the shelves as you tightens the screws. I did it solo but had a devil of a time trying to hold the shelf level and screw in the screws at the same time. It will be faster and easier with a second person, trust me!! NOTE: the shelves won't fit a book taller than about 8 or so inches standing up. So anything 8.5x11 won't fit...

The bookcase is pretty and easy to assemble. I looked on the internet and in stores and could not find exactly what I wanted until I saw this one. We love it!

I was EXTREMELY happy with this bookcase. My main objective when purchasing it was to make sure that it was REAL wood and not that pressboard. You have to put it together but the assembly is easy and did not take much time. I would highly recommend this. I plan on buying a few more!

We purchased three of these bookshelves to use as storage and also to partially divide our large living room. Since they are solid wood, the shelves are attractive and "finished" looking, both front and back. I am thinking about ordering another. Once my boyfriend stopped procrastinating assembling them, they were up and ready to use very quickly!

I ordered three for a bedroom wall. They are easy to assemble and sturdy. It would be nice if it had a solid back, but they hold a lot of books. They do not hold my tallest books ( like binder height books) and the selves are not ajustable, so be aware of that. I just have them on other bookselves.
