It's a beautiful set and I was so excited to receive them. However, when I looked at them closely, one knife was blunt and the other two were ok but not sharp. I had to spend more money to get them sharpened and the store advised me that I got what I paid for. You want good knives, spend the money...

this is an excellent set of knives. You won't find a better deal. high quality, forged vandanium stainless steel. I work full time as a fine dining banquet cook and I absolutely love to use these knives. The smallest knife is great for chopping fresh herbs and slicing mushrooms. the medium size knife is an excellent all around chef knife for chopping and julienning vegetables and my favorite knife, the 13", is wonderful for carving or trimming cuts of meats and peeling and slicing melon.

I would expect that a brand new knife set would never again be as sharp as the day I open the box. Tested these beside my old one and it didn't do any better. You'de expect "Sushi" knives to be dreadfully sharp. I could even cut myself on what I received. They are beautiful to look at, have a good weight and appear to be made very well. I even like the way the indentions on the side stop the slices from sticking to the blade, but...l and this is a big BUT these knives aren't very sharp and I do not believe I could in fact cut sushi with them. It's a shame! I'm glad they were hugely discounted! I'd be angry if I had paid full price and would return them! As it is, they were very inexpensive and worth what I paid, just expect to have to sharpen them yourself when they arrive!

These knives loook nice but they are decidedly cheap and of low quality. Spend your money on a better quality knive. These are very cheap and will not last long which will turn them into trash.

After reading the reviews I decided on these knives and was not dissapointed. They are well made and better than expected. The handles are solid and firmly attached to the blades for a confident purchase. The knives have a good heft and came sharp for instant use. I looked at what xxxxxx had to offer and these were much nicer at a better price. I am not a gourmet chef but enjoy cooking and these knives have added to the ease of food preparation. Again I am quite pleased with Overstock!

I have been looking for knives online for a while. These knives were exactly what I was looking for and the price was right. I love them and was also pleasantly surprised at the packaging in which they arrived.

Knives look great, feel good in the hand, appear sharp. After few days of use turn very dull, after sharping it gets dull in minutes of use.

Excellent choice of knife set...Good materials and exceptional construction. Edges were not the best but after dressing with a small diamond stone and testing for hardness and retention of edge I am more than pleased. These were a gift for my daughter who says her only complaint is the large knife will not get much use. You cant beat the price here...I had a new customer discount and that really made it a good deal. I am thinking about ordering another set for myself.

DULL and MADE IN CHINA. otherwise look good with good construction. can't tell any more 'till i sharpen 'em and see how the steel is.

All three are great. They have been a wonderful bargain purchase. Feel good, cut well, and are attractive on my counter. A great addition to my kitchen. Now I need a new sharpener soon.

I love these knives! I was very leary because of the mixed reviews, but the set that I received are perfect. I have used them to cut veggies for soup, meat for bbq'ing and for making pico de gallo (a mexican appetizer). From first to last uses they are still as sharp as the first time and my sister and I could not believe how finely chopped the jalapenos were with these knives. I have already recommended them to everyone that I know and might get some sets as gifts since the price is right! I have purchased from Overstock many times before, and this is another item that has really proved worth the price. Thanks Overstock.com!!!!!

Sturdy knifes. The ones I received are sharp enough to cook for daily use. I'm not prof chef but these are good enough!

These knives are an unbelievable value! The only reason that I didn't give them an overall 5 star rating, is the case. The case that they come in is very cheesy; it was fine for me, but as a gift, I would have to repackage the knives.

The knives were given as a Xmas present. They were used that night for cooking and carving. They performed well. The knives were sharp and ready to use. The box and blade covers were something to be desired. The price was very well priced.
