My doc was recommending a new bed for my bad back. I've looked at so many and was appalled at the cost of some, especially the Sleep Number beds and temperpedic. PT & Dr. recommendations were especially strong and positive for memory foam-type matresses. BUT! those that were so firm were painful for other arthritic areas. This sounded like a good quality fair priced option, so I bought it. It is too firm for me, but if someone wants a really firm bed that molds down around you just a little bit, it is a really good mattress. No odor problem and the neatest thing to watch it unfold and puff itself up from the water-heater sized box it came in all rolled up. It will be fine for the guest bedroom. Except for it being too firm for my comfort, it was a good buy.
Love the fact that I haven't had a morning backache since I bought it. Great price. HOWEVER, it is very deep and takes "deep pocket" sheets. It is a bit hot, but I can shower in the AM in exchage for a painless awakening!
I purchased this mattress as an alternative to a Tempurpedic memory foam mattress, and I am very happy with it overall. At about a quarter of the cost of a Tempurpedic, it is a very good deal. I have slept on it for about a week now, and I never want to sleep on a regular mattress again. It is definitely on the firm side, but I like it that way. I am giving it it four stars instead of five, however, because the strange chemical smell really did linger for weeks. In fact, it still smells faintly of chemicals, although not enough to really bother me. I left it alone in a back room for about two weeks before moving into a new house and then using it. The window was open in the room, but perhaps the room wasn't as well-ventilated as the mattress requires.
