Finally

reviewbyglenda from Reedsort, OR, Nov 4, 2009

Finally a mattress that does what it says. I have had too many back surgeries and suffer from extreme back pain. I can now get a good nights sleep. No pressure point pain, no stiffness, no extra pain medication in the middle of the night. My husband enjoys a better nights sleep as well. We tried the mattress first in our master bedroom and like it so well we will be purchasing another mattress set for our RV.

It Sleeps!

raabeca from Oacoma, SD, Nov 4, 2009

We are very pleased with our memory foam mattress. It was an excellent value and arrived very quickly in boxes that were easy to handle. It was easy to unpack and because it is 4 smaller mattresses, easy to put on the platform. One person could do it all, but two people made it simple.Though it is billed as an RV mattress, we are using it in our home master bedroom and built a platform for it.On the negative side, it did have a chemical smell for several days, and the mattress pad (included) was very tight. It is slightly firmer than we would have liked, but very comfortable. An excellent value!

Good Value

et4096 from CA, Oct 24, 2009

I bought this mattress because of the ability to swap the layers and customize. For my weight, about 140lbs, the bottom layers don't seem to matter. As other reviewers have said, lining up the layers is a little hard. Not all the layers are exactly the same size. With the 3lb layer on top of the 5lb layer, I sink into the foam in the midsection just right, but the upper back and shoulders is firm to medium firm. I was really surprised how much spring / push back the 3lb foam provides and found that variation is uncomfortable on the shoulders after a full night. With the 5lb layer over the 3lb layer, you get a medium-soft mattress. This variation is also not quite what I was looking for. I have a 4lb memory foam topper from my old bed that I added and (3 lb on top of 4lb on top of 5lb) and I think I found the right combo. My midsection sinks just a little more than I would like, but the upper back and shoulders are right. I wake up comfortable and well rested. I don't find any body heat issues. The open cell foam seems to dissipate body heat well. The smell was a little overwhelming the first week. It went away.Overall, I like it and because of the customization found the right balance, however buying bedding that you can't return is still a gamble. I was able to make it work and at the price, at a half to a fifth of other memory foam mattresses, it was worth the risk for me.

RV Foam Bed

melsmommy from Tuolumne, Ca, Oct 24, 2009

I was scared to buy a bed online. After reading the reviews I had a little more confidence. My father has a memory foam bed, but it was so hard you have to pick your body up and throw it around just to turn over. Also, I didn't want a bed that was too soft,, but I took the plunge and figued anything was better than the rock/bed we were sleeping on in our RV and you can't beat the price.I am so happy with this bed.We assembled it in the bedroom of the RV and it did stink, just left the windows open for a couple of days and that took care of the smell. This mattress is better than the one in my home bedroom. I absolutely love it.My husband likes a softer mattress and he loves it and I like a harder mattress and I love it. Also, it's just soft enough you can turn over with just a little effort.I would have this mattress in my house if it would fit.And the funny thing is we have slept in our RV in the front yard to try it out...3 days in a row! Every night we think, ok, just one more night and then we'll go back to our house. Maybe tonight?

Wonderful bed,best sleep

ddclaud from Marquette, Michigan, Oct 22, 2009

I received the mattresses yesterday in its four boxes. After previously buying a box spring only for support, I placed the one that said FIRM on the bottom of the layers. Then the next thickest layer went down followed by the 3 inch layer and 2 inch layer. I do like softer mattresses so I decided to try this way first. I slept better last night than I have in years,The only way I can describe the sensation of laying on the bed is like being in some type of "suspended animation" for the lack of a better description. There was no need to turn over because of pressure points. As far as the smell, yes there is one but I put dryer sheets between the layers like someone recommended and it does help, but I guess it is just what an individual would consider way too strong.I have neuropathy of the legs and feet and lower back and I had no pain at all this morning,So far so good and I am very pleased ,Great Product!
