PURCHASING PROCESS
It pays to shop around, Overstock matched a lower price that I found elsewhere online--I talked with their customer service on the phone and they were very helpful. The machine came within about 10 days or ordering. The Overstock description says that it does NOT come with a video, but my unit did ship with a video (the item is drop shipping from the manufacturer--Stamina sells it through many different outlets).
ASSEMBLY
At first I was a bit overwhelmed. Stamina customer support was very helpful walking me through a slightly confusing aspect of assembly. I could do most of it myself but there were a few points during assembly that I needed another set of hands. It goes much faster with two people.
EXERCISE
I have been doing Gyrontonics 1/week for several months as a part of rehab for an injury (through a physical therapy practice). It really helps my body feel better and thus I wanted to do the exercises more often than 1/week thus I bought the home equipment. I think it might be a little frustrating for someone to use this equipment if they didn't have any prior exposure to Gyrotonics. (The video is helpful, but it doesn't give you the same degree of personalized attention as a real live Gyro trainer.) I've only started using the home version a few days ago, so my review is limited to that experience. The Transformer 1500 doesn't have the same feel as the professional version, the Arch & Curl exercises are not as smooth on this home version, but even so, I feel it is a very good supplement to the Gyro I'm doing with my trainers.
If you haven't done Gyro before, it might be a good idea to take one private session to see if you like it before buying this equipment. (To be fair, you can use the Transformer to do more traditional strength training exercises as well, so it could be a good machine even if you don't use it for Gyro)

I am very satisfied with my gyrotonic machine. Takes a bit of time to put together, but material quality is exellent. This equipment serves you better if you've done gyrotonic before in a gym setting. I wish there was more flexibility in terms of spring resistance set up. Overall a great machine to have at home.

I have been taking gyrotonic classes for several years. While the machine is not the same as the ones in the studio, its does a very good job on a broad range of both upper and lower body exercises. For the price, it is a great value to have access to a machine that can supplement studio workouts.
