The weight is fairly light and manageable to move around. Since most of it is made out of glass (where you place your feet on the scale), it feels like there isn't much there underneath to hold your weight since the base isn't that thick (it feels a little wobbly, especially when stepping off) The outer horse-shoe like rim makes it easy for you to know where to place your feet. Unfortuantely, it stopped working altogether after 25 minutes. I'm thinking it could be a manufacturer defect. I ended up returning the scale. If it had worked, I would've kept it---but despite that it didn't, it doesn't mean that's it not worth the buy; I would still recommend buying it.
