While I have no visible proof that it actually kills germs, I assume it does when used as directed. It is very easy to use, lightweight and comfortable to handle - takes 2 AA batteries. If you aren't holding it close enough to the object to be sanitized, the light goes off. Gives a sense of security when travelling to know that I'm killing other people's germs on airplane seats, hotel furniture, etc. I am allergic to chemicals, aerosols and lysol, so it is great for me to now have a way to sanitize things.
