Lamp is great! It provides excellent light for me to knit or read, without disturbing others in the room. I was concerned that the light would be too bright and annoy others in the room but I can position it so it just lights up my area and everyone else can watch TV without any annoying glare or distraction.This will save me so much money - for years I have been making everyone keep the multiple recessed lights on in order for me to see my knitting. Love that it doesn't throw off any heat the way that halogen bulbs do. On/Off switch conveniently located right on the neck of the lamp. Adjusts easily and stays exactly where I position it.

The light is beautiful and I use it in a office with only artifical light so it helps my plants and myself to get natural light. It is too bright and very comfortable to work under at my desk.

This a is a great bedside reading lamp. I bought 2 in the aged bronze and they add a lot of character to our bedroom. They are larger than the ones I replaced so I was bit thrown off by that at first but they are not excessive. My only gripe is that the bulbs that comes with it are so bright! It felt like a hospital room at first. We easily remedied that by buying softer, yellow light bulbs though.

Very sturdy, easy to assemble, attractive lamp. Only problem is it comes with a proprietary light bulb with a strange light spectrum producing very blue light. Can only replace with special bulbs which are not generally available.

I've had an old "pharmacy" reading light for years, didn't like the long tube light (plus they're expensive to replace and hard to find!), so I liked this more modern light. It has a large lighted face, conveneintly turns on/off at light, and has nice sturdy adjustable handle. I was so excited to get this set up, which was easy, but the accompanying bulb was broken! No doubt, sending the bulb back will cost more than for me to replace it, which I hope I can find easily. Either don't include the bulb (which wouldn't be smart) or cushion wrap it better.

A well made lamp. Looks great next to the computer. I am still getting used to the color of these new fancy light bulbs (very unsexy), but the lamp itself is sleek and sexy.

I purchased two lamps for my wife and I to use as bedside lamps. The light is easy on the eyes and appears true to color. The only problem was one of the bulbs was broken in shipment which was promptly taken care of by Overstock customer service. The bases are weighted and the arms swivel and move freely. I'm very pleased and I think you will be also. I recommend them.

I received this item - it is a handsome lamp. The shipping box was undamaged, but unfortunatley the lamp was beat up. There were scratches on the base and two dents. This lamp is sold at a fairly deep discount, but it almost appears as a refurbished item... the scratches give the appearance that someone attempted to buff the base with a dirty buffer...and then two deep dents present on the top surface!!! I am contemplating returning the item - for the damage present. Otherwise, it's a very handsome well made lamp - too bad someone screwed it up. That's why only two stars.

Was easy to put together and really like the natural spectrum light.

Lamp is bright without being obnoxious. Easily adjustable in several ways. Nice that the switch is on the top of the lamp. Seems sturdy.

This lamp carries an oddball bulb. I am going to have to go out of my way and figure out what kind of bulb this is. The bulb that came in the box was completely shattered leaving glass all over the box. The lamp is much bulkier than I thought but since I already opened the packager I won't be able to return it

I purchased this Verilux lamp along with a desk lamp. Both are excellent lamps. I have a cataract that will eventually need surgery and retina damage to my other eye. This helps immensely in reading and working on the computer. I would recommend this to any one, even without sight issues. No eye strain, excellent, wonderful lamp.

Fine for an individual reading light, but needs a seriously broader range of coverage to be used for anything else. Wife has to use MINE in adition to hers to do her watercolors comfortably.
