I have purchased a Superstar before, back in 2003. I love it! In 2005, the cord quit working so my husband, rigged up a new one and it worked until Sept. 2009, I dropped it on hard wood floors and it broke. Now after buying the new one, I still like them very much. The only thing is that it seems that my first one actually worked better than this one, this one does great but just doesn't seem to get as hot. I have curly-waivy hair and love straight hair, so it takes some heat to change my hair. But over all I absolutely love it.
I am a professional Hairstylist, and the Superstar is flat out (pun intended) the best iron I have ever used, and I've tried most of the professional irons out there. The price has gone up since I bought my last one four years ago, but they are worth it! Highly recommended.
I love this flat iron! Its the best! I have natural spirally curly hair and it makes my hair extra silky and smooth! The straightness lasts longer. The last superstar I had lasted for 7 years so its a super investment!!
I've had my current SuperStar for about 4 yrs and it just recently broke. Even though the plates fall out at some angles I have been using it until I could find a replacement. I've dropped it so many times I can't believe it lasted this long. I decided to go and try the Chi since everyone raves about it. I ended up buying the Turbo and hated it. It snags my hair and most of all makes it a little frizzy. So I went to Folica and bought the Sedu because it also got great reviews, the most on their site. While its far better than the Chi its not as good as the Superstar, not even close. I had to go over every section of hair a few times to get it straight. That is way too much trouble and time for me. So even after buying 2 straighteners I have purchased the SuperStar again. I constantly get comments on how beautiful my hair is. I even had one girl walk by and mutter how she hates girls with pretty hair. If she only knew how nappy it really was and what I have to go through to get it that way! Love, love, love this straightener! I definitely recommend it to anyone! My stylist even agrees thats its the best one she's used.
