I thought this iron would get my hair straight but it doesn't. My routine is to blow dry my hair, every which way, brush it out to smooth then use the flat iron. I was surprised that it didn't straighten, I could still see waves in my hair. So instead I use it to make 'straight curls' now for this it really works. I pass it through my hair and turn and turn the iron and voila, I get super curls, maybe too curly.

    I have not tried to wave or curl with this. I can speak to its straightening power. Just one or two passes and your hair is beautifully straight. I have previously owned the Sultra "Wicked", and this is even better as it has 3 heat settings to choose from (fine, normal, thick). Most straighteners are very damaging, but these plates work to actually mend your hair, resulting in a healthy and full head of hair after use. Of course, any heat tool should be accompanied with a protecting product(s). Although expensive, I am at ease knowing that I have both the mfg warranty and the additional overstock protection plan I purchased.

    Just like all the other reviews, it heats up fast and takes one pass! My hair is thin, but, I use it on the low setting, so, I'm sure it would work as well for thicker hair! There will never be another flat iron for me! Love it!
