I just purchased my second of these cases. Previously, I had been storing all of my CDs in alphabetized shoe boxes, which was consuming a lot of space. So, this seemed lke a great concept. Although the description says you can store 600 CDs, if you wish to keep the liner notes, you will only be able to fit about 300. (I put the notes in one side of the pocket and the disc in the other.) The little pockets seem pretty durable, and I like that they are all numbered and indexed. I feel a little guilty just throwing away all of those plastic jewel cases now, but I guess that was the whole idea....
I purchased this item to store my large CD collection in a smaller space. Since I had copied most to my computer for my MP3 player, I had little need to have the CDs themselves readily available or on display. These metal boxes are conducive to alphabetical or other systematic storage, are sturdy, and take up much less than conventional CD racks. I bought 3.
