I mean, it was cheap so I guess it's o.k. considering that but the vest is flimsy and when you put it on, it doesn't fit adequately to provide much massage pressure - you need to lean back on something and then the motors are compromised. I dunno. Given the opportunity to buy it again - if I had read a review like this, I would not buy it. I guess sometimes you "do" get what you pay for.

not very strong
from Mtn Home, Idaho,  Feb 8, 2008

You would think that with the vest option you would get a true shiatsu hard, deep massage. In order to get a good massage you have to lie down or press your back up against a chair or couch. Also, it is not all that versatile, i thought you could walk around wih it on, but there is no battery pack so you have to stay attached to the outlet. For me, it also massaged my scapula bones (shoulder blades) since you can't change positions of the massager it was too wide for my back. It worked well for my husband and he did not have this problem. It vibrates more than massages so it was good for when my toddler had the coughs and she layed on it for some chest physiotherapy to help break up some of the mucus. (that is how gentle it is)

Just so so

Not ultra thrilled.........it could be better. I have sever muscle spasm problems and thought it would help. It comforts me but is VERY noisy so I can't relax as I should.

Not what I expected
 from NM,  Jan 23, 2008

I had an idea that this vest would knead in different areas, like massage chairs do. Instead, it vibrates in the different areas in different patterns, and is loud and annoying, not at all relaxing. The vibration doesn't reach deep enough into the muscles like a hand held massager does, because it's something soft that you wear. You feel it more on your skin, not on your muscles. I bought the case of four thinking they'd make great gifts, but am returning them all.

Shiatsu Vest
 from Kansas,  Jan 15, 2008

I love it! And I've tried them all. Products I've purchased before stayed on the closet shelf because they were too much trouble to use...but not the Shiatsu Vest; I find myself using it every morning. Don't be turned off because it looks kind of strange hanging on the model's back--I just lean against mine on a chair & it provides a great massage (with or without the straps fastened). It also has a much better than average massaging benefit; you can really feel it!
