I have extremely bad dark circles. I've even resorted to tattoo cover up to de-zombify myself so as not to frighten small children and timid adults. None of it has worked as well as this. I'm just delighted that it's pigmented enough to make me look like I'm not an extra from the Walking Dead.
I really wanted to like this palette. I was so excited to receive it but ended up being disappointed. First off, the colors are great and a good selection offered (I am medium/tanned skin-tone). It does provide good coverage since it is thick and pigmented. I bought this to highlight (under eyes, nose, forehead, etc) and contour(below cheekbones, hairline). It does look like the picture but the pans are shallow but not too bad because a little goes a long way. The product is not that creamy. It may appear to be so but it is not that easily blend-able or seamless looking. I wish it was more butter-like or had consistency of gel-like products. The colors are packed tight in the individual pans. When you just take a brush to product, not much if any appears on brush. I suggest mixing it in the pan to get it to be more creamy. I used a Popsicle stick for this. I had more issues with the lighter colors than my skin-tone because they looked more cakey and settled or emphasize my slight creases and made me look ghost-like. The darker colors or same skin-tone colors are easier to work with. Having said this, I made it work as best as I could (did not provide the full flawless look I was going for. I hate to waste product and money and return would be more of a hassle. So I did a few things to make it more creamy or blend-able. 1. It helps to apply with wet sponge or damp brush. You must blend, blend, blend. It is nowhere as smooth and creamy as concealer that comes in a tube or liquid foundation. Again, I cannot emphasize blend...BTW, while applying my usual makeup routine, my vanity has soft lighting but this has not been an issue before...but when I used this product, I thought it was well blended. It will appear to look blended. However, when in natural daylight and when my boyfriend saw me, he said I Looked terrible....ghost-like, esp where I applied the lighter colors. 2. I have combined this cream concealer with liquid concealer or foundation to get the consistency I wanted. this helped somewhat. again blend! 3. Since I was still frustrated that I was not getting the seamless look, I went searching for tips. I came across one that intrigued me. This one make-up artist suggested adding 1 (start of with one) drop of 100% oil such as almond oil to the concealer and than mix. I did this and it helped greatly!!! I added 2 drops to get the consistency I wanted. This made it more workable and doable. It will not look 100% flawless but not too bad. I can use this product now. 3, If you just apply the lighter colors and you have blended as well as you can, I suggest going over the areas that you used this concealer with a matching skin-tone liquid foundation on a flat-head brush in a stippling motion to reduce the cakiness and ghost-look. You will still get coverage but you are adding a tad more color that matches your skin-tone and it will look more natural. I hope this has helped. I full moisturize skin before applying makeup, apply primer and apply setting spray or mist before and after makeup and I still had issues with this product. Will I buy again, no and I do not recommend.I will look to see if their is a comparable product or brand out there. But so far I have made this work as best as I can. It is doable...if you are on budget or need many colors to match different skin-tones, get this or similar product and try what I suggested. Remember, blend, blend and blend and make sure you look in white light or bathroom light to see what you really look like.
This product is very thick and pigmented. It works well if you're looking for full coverage, but I do not recommend it if you have dry skin as it does not provide any moisture. Be sure to have a blending brush/sponge and blend, blend, blend!
I have tossed my tint corrector, blemish concealer stick, liquid foundation and pressed powder in the trash after receiving this make up kit. I have 15 different shades to achieve the look i want and it lasts all day. HIGHLY Recommend.
I purchased this product based upon the colors as shown in the photo, which are all cool colors. The only color that is similar to that in photo is the green; otherwise, the colors are extremely warm, with a yellow base. The darker browns are not taupe and cool brown, as shown in photo, but are golden brown with reddish undertones. I have pink undertones and cannot use warm tones, so this is a total waste of money for me. .
