This is a very good unit with a wide range of modes. It depends how severe your symptoms as to how well this will work.

Very happy with the quality and how easy it is to use. Just as good as the one at my PT's office

Didn't last ten days. Am returning it. Not sufficient to prevent pain. One electrode port just stopped working.:-[

Little difficult to learn to use. The instructions are very limited. Also, the pads that come with it do not stick as well as others I have used in the past.

I'm a physical therapist and i find this item very useful to treat chronic muscle and joint pains. The only thing i don't like about it are the small electrodes that come with the package. But I bought new pairs of extra reusable electrodes that i can use with the ultrasonic gel so i won't have to buy the new sticky ones over and over again. But I can say, this is a good buy for it's price and most of my patients like it, too.

I've used other TENS units, both in physical therapist's offices and retail units. I used to work for a heatlhcare system and did a bit of inquiring with our PT staff about the TENS unit market. This is a very good unit, and it has a lot of settings, especially considering the money. It appears to be the latest generation of a digital series of TENS units being imported and distributed by at least 2 reputable American companies. Previously those companies used units that had less features, but I get the feeling these newer series don't quite have the build quality of the older units. I've felt one of the older units, and it feels much heftier, with very sturdy feeling dials and a couple of buttons. They're heavier, too. Regardless, these new units deliver the voltage, and so far after about 30 days of hard use, mine still works peachy. I have also purchased some bifurcated leads (IE - splitters) so that I can connect 8 conductors instead of 4. It has plenty of power for this, and it saves quite a bit of money over a 4 channel unit (assuming you just want the leads and don't need 4 separate channels, mind you - I'm not a doctor). If I had one quibble, it's this - every button you press generates a beep. If you try to cheat a little and press and hold - every button you hold down beeps with every repeated increment! A fairly loud beep. If you're adjusting it in the middle of the night, you WILL wake up your spouse/significant other. If you're like me and you have a hyper vigilant 18 month old, you will also wake him up or disturb him virtually anywhere if you're in the house. I place a pillow the unit it tightly and change the settings "blind" if you will, when someone is sleeping. I'm not kidding. There appears to be no way to change that - no settings, firmware update, etc. I haven't cracked the case open yet to see if I can add a potentiometer or switch to the unit's little noise maker. I hate to turn it off permanently - I like the beep when the battery runs low or the timer is done. But for every button press? Yikes. For some people - that's not an issue. For me, if I had it to do over again, I might purchase one of the older units from the same company that had less features, but didn't make the annoying beeping. But fortunately (or unfortunately), I'm in so much pain when I use it that I'm just happy to have it work well, reliably, and with so many settings. So I don't regret purchasing it at all. I will take one star off for that issue, though - otherwise it's almost perfect.

My chiropractor told me to get a home machine that uses both TENS and EMS and this one is just as good as the chiropractor's. I am very satisfied. The pads are slightly smaller than the pads that he uses but he sold me a pack of slightly larger pads (4 for $10) that fit this machine perfectly. I usually take a very strong level of stim at the chiro's and this machine delivers it at about a level 3 or 4. I'm very happy with this purchase. Should have gotten it years ago!

This TENS unit is a great purchase. It is portable, has a case, and it is easy to use. Invest in 9v batteries though, because it doesn't come with an a/c adapter. And order a set of electrode pads while you are at it. While the ones that come with it are good for several uses, they don't last forever. I am so glad I purchased this unit...just make sure you are stocked in batteries and electrode pads!

My old tens unit literally fell apart because I used it so much. The new system gives me more choices and is fairly easy to use. I heard about EMS and wanted to try it. So far, so good. Short of healing the problem ( which is muscle pain in my neck and shoulders), this unit eases the stress that pain can cause in my life and gives good value for the money.

I've been using this for about 3 weeks now. You get a lot of tool, for a reasonable price. The 4 electrode pads included are small and even though I clean the gel side with a wet soft toothbrush after every use, I can tell that the electrode pads aren't sticking as well as when I first opened them. So far, the electrodes are still sticking and I can use them with no concerns though. I did buy a multi-pack of the 2"x2" pads and they are much better. The unit works just as well on it's included 9V battery as it does on the included 110VAC power cord. One time I was using the 110VAC cord with the 9V battery still in the device and I think the unit shut down because it got too hot. I had been using EMS on various muscles for almost 2 hours. The unit felt almost hot to the touch in the middle when it began beeping and then shut down. I thought it was "toast," but it continues to work fine. I have yet to find any reference to this issue in the manual. Now I always take the 9V battery out whenever I use the 110VAC cord and that problem has never happened again. HOWEVER, two disappointments are: 1) The product manual contains more jibber-jabber than useful instructions. E.g., there are no diagrams showing you where to place electrodes for commonly treated muscles; the descriptions of the four different modes (TENS, IF MIC EMS) are entirely technical and not helpful. You can learn what a waveform is, but you are given no instructions on why to, or what benefit there is to, use different current levels and frequencies (Hz) when setting up your programs. I would be very happy if the manufacturer had a website with instructional videos and explanations of all the wonderful possible settings and uses for this device. 1) The sliding plastic case "locks" on the handle. They just slide around and the case can open when you are not expecting it.

I was recently diagnosed with arthritic degeneration of my lumbar (lower back). My doctor sent me to Physical Therapy where they worked on increasing flexibility in my back, and strengthening abdominal and lumbar muscles. Each session ended with a TENS treatment. I bought this TENS unit after reading the specifications and prices on all available units. Overstock had the best price, a nominal amount for this TENS unit. I didn't expect much, but it turned out to be every bit as good as at the Therapist. The instruction book is not very sophisticated. I Googled about how to adjust the settings on a TENS device. There were hundreds of hits with manuals showing where to place the electrodes, and what to set the settings at. Now, I use it all over my body for aches and pains, and it is so soothing I don't want to stop. Battery life is great! I have used it daily for a month and no sign of needing to replace battery. The unit is very powerful with its 9 volt battery, way more powerful than you need. This unit goes to an intensity of 10, and 3 is equal to what the Therapist was using. An intensity setting of 3 is very comfortable for me. And, I read all the reviews about the electrodes needing replacement frequently. Not on the one I got. I bought an extra package, but the original ones are still perfect after a couple of months of use. It's a great item, it couldn't be any better. And for a bonus, Overstock's price is unbelievably low. A great deal!!! I'd buy this one again in a heartbeat if I needed one.

Ten years ago, I was given a smaller version of this heating pad and my puppy chewed through the cord and I thought I could never replace it! Finding the same heating pad with the convienent removable flannel cover was a nice surprise. I wasted no time ordering it and then ordered one for my nieghbor who was visting and saw mine. She wanted one too! The length of the heating pad gives me relief from the end of my spine to my shoulders and neck. I use it almost every day for a past injury. I also use it to warm up my muscles and relax on a cool night. I love this heating pad and the price is very affordable, worth every penny if you have aches and pains!

I injured my neck and shoulder a year ago transferring one of my patient over to another bed and since then my back has never fully recovered. I occasionally still experience pain, especially on my neck/shoulders. My physical therapist at that time recommended that I purchase a TENS unit but that brand that they're recommending literally cost an arm & two legs (approx $700?). Well, to make long story short... I searched online one night for TENS unit and ran into this machine w/ lots of good reviews and with a price that won't burst my wallet. I was hesitant at first but decided to give it a try since the price was reasonable and I have to say... I am glad I made that purchase! Machine works great and worth every cent. Also, what more can you ask for? It's a 2-in-1!

I was excited when I saw this so I would not have to deal with all the wire. It has very limited settings and is not strong enough volts for people with a lot of pain. Also, they are so thick that they actually will rub off if you get close to a doorway or any tight squeeze just brushing by something. VERY OVERPRICED! It is not a good value for someone that needs to use a tens unit a lot and with the higher settings. VERY DISSAPPOINTED!

Great little tens unit that clips on you so if you have to move around it's doable. Needed something for knee with ACL/PCL damage, and this has decreased the pain and aching I've felt, as well as the frequency of my knee going 'out'. A great deal for the price!

The quality of this Tens unit is great! Small enough to fit in my pocket and fairly easy to use. It's a little more complicated than my older model, but I'm working with it. I especially like the fact that it is a dual unit, both the Tens Unit and the Electrical muscle stimulater. It's a wonderful instrument and really helps for muscle spasms.

I had a tens unit from a therapist that stopped working. This unit I received today. I bought two and just tried the one. It is super. I like the compact size. My back gets tightened up and this certainly helps.
