OTT-Lite 18 Watt Natural Light Floor Lamp

As a quilter I've tried many different lighting techniques and been dissatisfied. I told myself that next time I had a quilt to quilt I would look into getting an Ott. It is just what I wanted. It's easy to put together and manuover around the frame with no glare. I can even thread my tiny needles now.

I wanted a lamp for the bedroom that provided adequate light for reading but would not disturb my husband and it was satisfactory on both counts. I like that the head easily turns in various positions; we aim it towards the wall sometimes for more subdued lighting. My only complaint is that it isn't very attractive; my husband says it looks like a vacuum cleaner and I now refer to it as my "Hoover lamp." I am otherwise pleased with it and would recommend it as an excellent reading light.

The lamp doesn't look hard to operate and there are only a few pieces so I wasn't anticipating any problems putting it together, however, the bolt that screws the whole thing together won't go in. It won't even start to go in. It looks larger than the hole and the threads don't look the same. The instructions don't have a parts list, so as there is a website for these lamps, I checked there. No parts list there either. Overstock is going to send me another bolt, and hopefully this isn't going to be an issue with these lamps. Hopefully this is a one-time error. I see someone else said something about having a problem putting it together, but they didn't explain, so whether they had the same problem as I am having, I don't know. I guess when the replacement bolt arrives, I'll see whether I'm going to be happy with my purchase or not.

I am very pleased with my new Ott Light. It is very easy to use and gives me a lot of light to read by, which is why I got it.
