This is my second ott-lite floor lamp. The 18 watt I just purchased throws a great amount of light for reading. A great purchase for the avid book reader.

Purchased this for computer lighting - Simple assembly - great light for reading - Would give it 5 stars if it were more attractive and would allow use of a dimmer switch.

It was good value. The light is very natural. I'm just a bit worried that I only used the lamp for a month, the end of the tube starts to get dark, and I dont even know where to replace if it ever go wrong.

I would not buy this lamp. I turn it on and it shuts itself off after about 15 minutes. I wait about 20 minutes and try to turn it on and it will not stay on. Unrotunately it is heavy and difficulf to box up and send back for me.

I never heard of an OTT light but I knew I needed more light than I presently have by my chair. I read many reviews from Overstock customers and decided to believe what I read. I got the 18 watt light and it is more than enough. Easy to assemble. Very basic as far as decore goes but it serves the purpose well.

I really like the lighting that this lamp provides. It also eliminates shadows. I hope to use it also with crossword puzzles where glare is a problem. I use reading glasses but don't need them for the outdoors so this lighting is very beneficial for the eyes. The only problem I encountered was the plastic cover for the light was cracked but the hassel of returning the lamp was not worth it.

I ordered two of these lamps on a Monday, and they arrived on Friday.They were easy to assemble and they look great. When I turned them on, I was amazed at the quality of the light.Today its stormy, windy, and dark and I don't mind because I have a favorite book to read and plenty of light to read it by.Thank you, Overstock.Com for your excellent service!

I bought two of these lamps - one for my sewing machine area and the other for my computer area. The light is perfect for sewing and computer use. The lamps are not particularly pretty, but they do the job they are intended for.I am a firm believer in full spectrum lighting, especially for close, detailed work like sewing and computer work and reading. Most home lighting is only partial spectrum which fatigues the eyes. I notice the difference. Read up on full spectrum lighting and you will understand why I bought these lamps.The "goose neck" allows for adjustment of height and angle, and since my computer desk is adjacent to my sewing table I can move the computer lamp so it will also illuminate my sewing area.If you want full spectrum lighting and aren't worried about how "pretty" the fixture is, then go ahead and buy this one. Your eyes will thank you.

I make jewelry and bought this light to help me see my work in natural light. It was great! The bulb lights really great ( a little flickering at first, but I think that is normal with flouresent type bulbs) and it gives out great light. I really recommend this for book readers and crafters. As far as putting it together... it was easy as pie. There is a base where one pole screws in and another pole screws into that. No tools needed, no dummy manuals needed. Perfect.This is not a designer/decoration type of light (as I have seen some of the reviews complaint) it is a light for function as are all OTT lites.

It serves my purposes perfectly, it's just not particularly good looking (no place to rate that). I work on rather small needlepoint canvases and need good light which this lamp provides. It is easy to get the light where I need it, it adjusts easily. It also good for reading, not tiring to the eyes.

I wanted a lamp for the bedroom that provided adequate light for reading but would not disturb my husband and it was satisfactory on both counts. I like that the head easily turns in various positions; we aim it towards the wall sometimes for more subdued lighting. My only complaint is that it isn't very attractive; my husband says it looks like a vacuum cleaner and I now refer to it as my "Hoover lamp." I am otherwise pleased with it and would recommend it as an excellent reading light.

The lamp doesn't look hard to operate and there are only a few pieces so I wasn't anticipating any problems putting it together, however, the bolt that screws the whole thing together won't go in. It won't even start to go in. It looks larger than the hole and the threads don't look the same. The instructions don't have a parts list, so as there is a website for these lamps, I checked there. No parts list there either. Overstock is going to send me another bolt, and hopefully this isn't going to be an issue with these lamps. Hopefully this is a one-time error. I see someone else said something about having a problem putting it together, but they didn't explain, so whether they had the same problem as I am having, I don't know. I guess when the replacement bolt arrives, I'll see whether I'm going to be happy with my purchase or not.

The overall quality of the lamp is fine. My only problem was putting it together. I was glad my husband was home and put it together for me. I found it difficult to put the pieces together easily. However, the light is excellent to read by. and that's why I bought it!

Got mine today for a reading lamp & now my husband had me order another one for his TV area! Easy to put together & I can read without squinting or glare. Its a perfect height for the back of the sofa. It is not beautiful but blends in & sure does the job.

I used to have trouble reading in bed with light from a table lamp. However, this new Ott light works like a charm & I can even read without glasses since the light is so good. Highly recommended.

This floor lamp has noise when it turns on. Light is not bright enough than I expect. Quality looks cheap if you compare to the price. The reason I keep this lamp because I threw away the orignal pack.

I bought this so that I could see details (printed documents, etc.) at my desk. The overhead light, even though very bright, isn't enough to help me see the tiny text that I can no longer see without natural light. This lamp is great for that. I may purchase another!

I hastened to order another lamp after receiving the one I first ordered, The lighting is fantastic and very good for my knitting and reading purposes, My husband was equally satisfied with his own. It is also very attractive.

I gave this only 4 star because my lamp was broken and couldn't get the company to do anything about it, Overstock did without hesitation and I am a happy customer. I also had seen this same lamp elsewhere cheaper but it is nice to know that Overstock will back you on your purchase. Thank you Overstock!!!! Overstock gets 10 stars...
