I have owned a Norelco shaver for 25 years and finally decided that since the battery in the old one doesn't hold a charge for more than two shavings when I am on a camping trip any more, it might be time to purchase a new one.
My dad had electric razors since the 1920's and I have had them since the 1950's. I still have my dad's old razors and some of mine but I have found the Norelco to be superior to all others, albeit I have not tested any new brands for quite some time.
The difference in the current model I have and my old Norelco is mainly the convenience of cleaning after each shave. Rinse, light shake, blot and leave open to completely dry before the next use. In Wyoming it of course is so dry that complete drying is very quick.
The shave is smooth, I do not prefer the shave gels which can be used with this model. I splash on an after shave and I am finished. Alcohol and Corn starch is all a man needs. Anyone who tells you differently is covered with wax or hidden in perfumes. I also prefer using the razor prior to showering as a dry shave has proven to be best for me. Quick and easy. I am very happy with this razor and while not wanting to wish my life away, I look forward to my next whisker encounter (So does my wife..).

This is an excellent shaver, and I am very pleased with it. Keep in mind that the reconditioned item does NOT come with the the trimmer attachment, even though it is pictured.
I just purchased this for my husbands Birthday as a replacement of his 10+ year Norelco electric shaver that just went and he loves it! It's even better than his old one because this one can be brought right into the shower becuase it is water-proof. Plus, it has built in shaving lotion for a smoother shave. Norelco is a top rated brand of Consumer products and this is no exception! I wouldn't purchase any other brand! I have done research on this particular brand and couldn't touch it anywhere else for under $140.00 -- this is truly a great deal, don't miss out!
