I received these at the hospital with my first child and remembered wishing I had some when I came home. This time I scoured the Internet & have always had great service from overstock. I didn't require any stitches this time around but they are still heaven sent for the soreness. Yes, you can make your own at home but you can't travel with them and there are so many other priorities just make the investment. If you don't use them all they are a great addition to any first aid kit:)

This was the best deal I could find for these cold packs that hospitals usually supply for the new moms to use to reduce swelling after giving birth. With just a pop and a shake you have instant cold in an absorbent pad about the size of a large menstrual pad. If you have some left over, just use them in place of a traditional ice pack, like for a sore neck or sprained ankle.
Just had my homebirth this past weekend, and used one case of these pads in 3 days. This was the cheapest per-pad price I could find online. The pads hold the cold for a good amount of time, and are very comfortable and soothing, not to mention absorbent. I highly recommend them for any newly postpartum mom with a swollen bottom!
