Wonderful Dryer
from Bainbridge Island, WA,  Oct 7, 2008

I have to agree with the other individuals who purchased this dryer: It's fabulous. I have fine texture, frizzy hair and after using this dryer for the first time I no longer have to follow up my hair drying with a flat iron. This dryer left my hair soft, shiny and very manageable and straight after blow drying. The controls are not difficult to use, just remember to hold down the appropriate button with your fingernail and the settings will change quickly; its not necessary to keep pushing the buttons to get the settings to change. The dryer is very well made and I have come to learn that you truly get what you pay for. I believe this dryer is well worth the money.

I recently purchased this dryer because of the high reviews. So I must say that I was very dissappointed. I expected more out of this quality dryer and I have to say that my $12.99 Conair tourmaline dryer was just as good if not better. I feel that it is not very hand friendly. The buttoms to adjust the heat or speed settings are very difficult to adjust. Once you turn off the dryer it holds the last setting you used so, I feel that I am spending more time trying to adjust the heat settings. When you go to the cool cycle you have to hold the button down longer than usual for it to cool down. The quality and size are good, and the dryer itself is fairly light weight. It's just the settings I have a problem with. I do wish I would have spent the extra money and invested in the better tourmaline dryers that overstock offers.

Tapped into my hairdresser's secret!
from Reston, VA,  Apr 23, 2008

Well, at least now I know how my hairdresser gets the hair to dry so soft and shiny. Two weeks after my $$$$ color job it started to look a bit off, but after drying with it for the first time it looked as healthy as the day I left the salon. Go figure. I looked around for a great (affordable) tourmaline drier and this really fit the bill at just under $50 with over half off retail. Arrived lightening fast with all registration intact. I did buy the 2 year warrantee since it's so cheap. I'm glad that I picked this option - was willing to go double the price (on Overstock, of course!). A pro salon supplier down the street has it on 'a sale' for $100. (I have naturally wavy, thinner hair with lots of body so de-frizzing is always a priority). I do wish it had a diffuser attachment but I'm sure it's available somewhere.

Where is the tourmaline...
from Windham, ME,  Sep 16, 2007

This is a ceramic blow dryer. The cool button is hard to operate. The temperature and speed settings are good. Overall - I like it enough to keep it. But had I had the opportunity to see if before I purchased it - there are many more options available at better prices.

I bought this dryer for my daughter for Christmas a year ago, It still works as good as the day she received it, she said it is the best dryer she has ever used, she has long hair and has gone through many cheap dryers, we are happy with purchase...very happy.

Overall pretty great!
from Boston, MA,  May 20, 2010

I love almost everything about this dryer. The temperature settings and ion option are great and I use the comb attachment it comes with to get my hair straight. My hair is noticably softer and smoother using this dryer with the ion option on as compared with my old (non-ion) dryer. The only complaint I have is that everytime you unplug the dryer, the settings reset- meaning that when you turn it on again, it's on very low heat and low power. If you keep your dryer somewhere where it is consantly being plugged in and unplgged, that could get annoying pretty quickly.

Hot Tools Tourmaline 1875 Watt Ionic Dryer
from San Jose, CA,  Jan 6, 2010

Though it is a bit heavy for me, this dryer has done wonders for my hair. I've used many different dryers and this by far is the best. It takes minimal time to dry my hair and leaves it soft, smooth and very full. I highly recommend it!

Fantastic Item
 from Dallas,  Jan 2, 2010

I researched ionic tourmaline hairdryers before purchasing. In fact, I intended to purchase a much more expensive well-known brand until I completed my research. This dryer works great. The adjustable speeds and temps are very useful and the drying time is so fast. I have very thick hair and the drying time is cut tremendously, even though I was using a high wattage dryer before. Another benefit was that I immediately noticed the difference in my hair; it so much softer than using the traditional hairdryer I was using.

 from seattle,  Dec 13, 2009

I bought this hair dryer for my thick long hair, and it drys so fast and with the ion setting it cuts the fuzzy frizzy hair, and I live in Seattle,It worked so well I bought one for my mom and she loves it. Lots of settings, so you can make it custom to your needs. Also the cool button you do not need to hold down like most dryers, making it perfect for drying dogs.

Great Dryer!
from Greenville, NC,  Oct 17, 2009

This truly is a wonderful product. I don't know how I lived without it for so long. The only time the dryer doesn't save settings is when you unplug it; like an alarm clock. So glad I bought this!

Finally!
from New York, NY,  Oct 9, 2009

I have always wanted an excellent, professional hair dryer but have never had the $$$ to shell out for it. So I finally decided to pony up the dough after years of damaging my hair with mediocre styling tools and too-hot straightening irons (which burned away a LOT of my hair). I was doing my research and was almost ready to by the $20 more expensive Babyliss red tourmaline dryer...but eyed up this Hot Tools and saw the same rave reviews for it...so being on an endless budget crunch - especially these days- I decided to try it. I got it in the mail yesterday and tried it for the first time just now. I spent less than 15 minutes on my hair, drying it upside down with a round brush and got better results than I used to get with my old Con-Air after 45 minutes of frustration. Its gorgeous!! BUY THIS DRYER!

great dryer
 from louisville,  Aug 20, 2009

Powerful, light and quickly dries my hair. Not sure if the ionic setting changes much with my hair.only draw back is if you unplug your dryer between uses it does not save the last settings for every time it takes a 5-10 seconds to pump up the speed and temp.

Not as user friendly as others
from Boston, MA,  Apr 30, 2009

Works good as far as heat and air flow. Light in your hands. The settings don't save for me so each time I turn it on I have to press pretty hard to get the settings back to where I like them. Maybe I got a defect? Overall, ok dryer but not the best I've had.
